Whether you like small creatures, big creatures, controlling the game, or racing to its conclusion as fast as possible, there's an archetype that supports what you want to do. In many cases, these archetypes also overlap, especially in Commander. Elf decks are often also ramp decks, token decks, and sometimes even storm decks. Zombie decks are usually aristocrats, artifact decks usually sacrifice their stuff. But what happens when you try to combine two archetypes that don't normally go together?\n\nBuilding an archetype you know well with an unusual twist is a great way to keep your decks feeling fresh without having to abandon your favorite cards. Enchantress is known for being storm-adjacent, but could also support a reanimator strategy with Animate Dead effects. Or there are powerful artifacts to support planeswalkers, so what if you added a little more artifact support to your Super-friends deck? Like Voltaic Key to untap The Chain Veil and make more mana from Chromatic Orrery.\n\nCombining themes is also a great way to experiment with an archetype you're not familiar with yet. Supporting artifacts with another archetype can help determine if you want to invest in some of the expensive artifact synergy cards like Krark-Clan Ironworks or Mycosynth Lattice. Alternatively, this can be a fun way to modulate your play experience. Spellslinger / Aristocrats

{"ops":[{"insert":"Our commander is a sorcery. That's right, this deck offers a great blend of aristocrats that'll replace themselves with a token when they die, with big Magecraft payoffs for recasting Awaken the Blood Avatar as many times as we can. This will ensure we keep a wide board that can hit every opponent, while also keeping our opponents in check by making them sacrifice their creatures while we grow stronger. Powerful cards like Anointed Procession, Bitterblossom, Tergrid, and Shadowspear, can easily be subbed out for cheap creatures or signets for a lower powered, budget friendly deck. Although Fury storm was intended as a powerful payoff to copy our commander sorcery, people looking for high powered combos can pair it with cards like Storm-Kiln Artist to more easily secure the game.\n"}]}

Kefka - Dragon Omens & Black Mages burn

{"ops":[{"insert":"Kefka is my first homedbrewed commander deck, which is both made with a budget (and cards i already had) & dragons (And Dragon Mage which was the first Magic card i got). And stupiditly it also got some extra Final fantasy cards (For Kefka theme)...\n\nIn it's core, the deck is all about Black Mages, who does alle the burn through strong instances and sorceries with a broad arrenge of effects. Mostly i want some draw power, and to re-use dragon omens, instances & sorceries for burn. For a side, it also have some aristocrats, where the wizards can sacrifice themself for some last burn. \n\nWhen we come far enough in the game, the dragons come into play to finish the game (Hopefully).\n\nAnd in the end, the deck got support cards for Kefkas discard ability, which will add some extra burn, draw power or zombies to the field. Some day i also hope to win a game with Forced Fruition+Entropic Battlecruiser, where thier own greed to draw cards, will burn them to death in the discard fase.\n\nPS. Kefkas deck should be chaotic like him, but i felt like clashing two action figures together (With all the modes), when i made this deck...\n"}]}

Rhea Rae's Urza Deck
Created by: RheaRae

{"ops":[{"insert":"This isn’t your dad’s tuned Urza pile; it’s the traveling Antiquities roadshow where the exhibits bite. Urza, Lord Protector, presides over a scrapyard of shiny terrors and old borders, the kind of relics your LGS keeps in the glass case because the text boxes look like they were printed on a potato. Think Glasses of Urza for gossip, Helm of Chatzuk for swagger, Library of Leng and Jalum Tome for old-school hand acrobatics, and a romantic comedy between Nevinyrral’s Disk and Darksteel Forge that somehow ends with everyone else’s stuff gone. Sprinkle in Jester’s Cap brain surgery, the occasional Obsianus Golem and Endoskeleton for style points, and the Urza land trio humming in the background, and you’ve got a museum that runs on menace.\nGameplay is simple in the way a Rube Goldberg machine is simple. The mana rocks and Tron lands light the fuse, Unwinding Clock turns other people’s turns into my turns, and Planar Portal translates excess mana into whatever silver bullet the situation demands. Bottled Cloister and Ensnaring Bridge tuck combat into bed while I draw back up on my turn and act civilized, at least until Memnarch and Mycosynth Lattice start rewriting property rights. Cityscape Leveler handles urban renewal with fewer permits, while Cephalopod Sentry, Nettlecyst, and Steel Overseer convert “pile of trinkets” into “that is somehow a 14/14.” If Glasses of Urza says you are hiding heat, Jester’s Cap performs a neat little lobotomy and Academy Ruins makes sure the tools keep coming back like a boomerang with an attitude problem.\nThis is not cEDH; this is curated oppression with a sense of humor. The deck ramps like a raccoon that found an energy drink, tutors with a straight face, and locks down the table just long enough to make a point before closing with theft, constructs, or the satisfying boom that happens when Mine, Plant, and Tower finally hold hands. It wins, but it also puts on a show, because smashing faces with shiny metal should look good, feel petty, and leave your friends wondering why you just attacked them with a history lesson.\n"}]}

Race to the Blind Eternity

{"ops":[{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Eldrazi Burn"},{"insert":"\n\nSamut, the Driving Force makes your Noncreature Spells cheaper to cast, based off your speed. Most people who looked at her, given the set she was in, thought \"Oh, okay, she's a Vehicles commander.\" Or they play her with Tokens.\n\nBut she actually has an incredible synergy with Mana Rocks. Mana rocks up to 4 mana can become Cheerios with her, giving a great return on investment. And that much ramp lends itself well to Eldrazi strategies, generally speaking.\n\nBut Eldrazi means casting Creatures, and Samut doesn't synergize as well with creatures. Which is why most of the 17 creatures in this Samut deck exist to amplify the actual strategy going on here: Eldrazi Burn.\n\nGlaring Fleshraker loves seeing colorless spells of any type cast. And even more than that, it loves seeing colorless creatures enter the battlefield. Combined with Echoes of Eternity (and other doublers like Panharmonicon, Elesh Norn, and Delney), a single colorless spell can turn into a lot of damage all at once. It becomes even more potent when that colorless spell is something like a Skittering Invasion, bringing several more colorless creatures onto the battlefield for Glaring Fleshraker to burn the field.\n\nMyriad Construct and Triplicate Titan become waiting spellbombs. Echoes doubles the triggers of either that put new colorless creatures onto the field...turning 1 creature into 6 or even 12 colorless creatures entering the battlefield...which Glaring Fleshraker then turns into 12 or 24 damage to all players. (And god help you all if Agate Instigator is present, or Taii Wakeen has amplified the Noncombat Damage on the board).\n\nThis Bracket 2 deck relies on draw to get its pieces in play, and hints at its Eldrazi inclinations with the mass amount of lands that tap for colorless, but relies on people misunderstanding the actual threat to get to the point that it just burns everyone all at once on a turn...combining three weird archetypes all in one: Speed, Eldrazi, and Burn, in a way that doesn't really see much use.\n"}]}
