Description

{"ops":[{"insert":"This is basically an upgraded meme deck I made just because it's doctor who. There's been a lot of play testing trying to make this actually somewhat decent (for casual play obviously) and I'm happy enough with the list now to say it's done.\n\nI used a lot of proxies for the mana base because gates can be quite slow and they counter that. If you can't do that it's probably best to use cards like spelunking that let gates enter untapped like Gond Gate does, or to just run more cards that can fetch Gond Gate. I'd probably also use Rose Noble for extra card draw if I had the card.\n\nClara is the partner commander for access to black so that can't be changed. Half the time you won't even want to play her because of the effort with all the triggers. Worth it purely for access to sudden spoiling tbh.\n\nSo the win cons are:\n\n1. Ultimatums.\n\n This is the easiest way to win. If no one plays any graveyard hate on you it can be quite easy just to mash through the deck until you're able to flood the board with eerie ultimatum and whack people in the face with the tribal buffs or the other ultimatum sorcery.\n\nThe fugitive doctor can cast them for half the price if they're put into the graveyard with the Jeskai enchantment.\n\nGrindclock in the sideboard can be used to self mill before playing eerie ultimatum.\n\n2. Dismantle combo \n\nDismantle can turn the time counters from the millennium calendar into charge counters (lethal with doors of destiny or the charge equipment/trample/unblockable)\n\nYou can also just buff the TARDIS +100 or something with dismantle + calender if there aren't any flying blockers.\n\nAlternatively, Grindclock in the sideboard could be buffed this way to dump someones entire deck into their graveyard, this can be better for games with a mill player as the calendar doesn't have to go so high.\n\nGeometric Nexus itself could also be a wincon under some conditions if you can put >40 charge counters on it and have Rhythm of the Wild/Unblockable abilities.\n\nGeometric matrix/Vexing puzzlebox/Millennium calendar are the best counter generators for pure numbers. \n\n3. Infinite mana combo\n\nStaff of domination in the sideboard combos with Bigger on the Inside for infinite staff abilities. Since you can just tap everything and draw the entire deck this will win if no one has removal.\n\nI left this in the sideboard because it's an infinite and it's relatively anticlimactic. I only really use this for high power tables where I know I'll struggle to keep up, the tutors in the deck make this not amazingly hard to pull off.\n\n4. Gates\n\nYeah... Gates. Just do the gate thing with maze's end, you know how this works...\n\nHonestly surprising how often this can be pulled off in a long slog of a game with a lot of board wipes. The Ring Goes South can be used on a full board to auto win a lot of the time with 20 gates in the deck.\n\n5. Lux artillery \n\nAnother meme wincon, I just put it in because messing around with artifacts and somehow blowing everyone up seemed quite flavourful for a Doccy who deck.\n\nBasically just find the artifacts that generate a tonne of tokens, or a few that can generate like ~10 each and it's not that hard to pull off. 10 damage doesn't instakill anyone but there's a lot of Unblockable tech in the deck + tribal buffs that should make it easy to finish people off.\n\nOnly dump the artillery when you have enough tokens for it to trigger at the end of the turn. It's also quite easy to activate when mass recurring permanents from the graveyard if it gets removed.\n\n6. Gallifrey Stands\n\nThe often forgotten wincon of the deck that you'll end up chasing anyway. Never actually pulled it off but I've been very close a few times.\n\nUsing crystal shard to spam replay the commander can run through all the doctors pretty quick. \n\nSometimes you just want to cast the enchantment to return all the graveyard doctors to your hand.\n\n7. Combat Damage \n\nThe tribal buffs and things like Jodah makes regularly killing people something this deck can do with the right draws. \n\nYou can easily end up with 20/20 doctors with unblockable if people let you cook.\n\nSisay can basically always be used to fetch Jodah, you just need 4 colours on the field.\n\n8. War Doctor\n\nGenerally unlikely but Resourceful defence and Millennium Calendar can be combo'd in several different ways to put a tonne of time counters on to the war doctor.\n\nSwinging with him with >40 time counters just lets you one shot anyone at the table.\n\n9. Millennium Calendar \n\nSonic screwdriver can untap millennium calendar, stuff like peregrine dynamo can help too. \n\nIf you let the tokens get up to the hundreds without anyone seeing it as a threat you can just quickly double it up to win.\n\n\n"}]}
