{"ops":[{"insert":"This deck functions on a simple principle: always cascading into Beacon of Creation. \n\nCodie comes out turn 3 using as many forests as possible. (pretty standard) and does his thing on turn 4 casting any 5 mana spell (literally like 70% of the deck). It cascades into Beacon before the spell takes effect (since codie works on a cast trigger). Ideally you will be using either ramp, cascade, or extra turns in order to make the board as large as possible. \n\nThe deck has access to some counterspells that can be used for making an instant board when it isn't your turn (assuming you saved your codie proc and the mana).\n\nDeck also features NUMEROUS one sided board wipes in order to ensure that both codie and his swarm of bugs stay big and strong. \n\nThe finishers are really just pump spells to activate whenever you feel you have a big enough board.\n\nWhen tutoring for a land, make sure to get the one that makes everything forests. Forests are the primary mana source in this build due to Beacon of creations limitations. That's why all the lands are pricy. \n\nThis deck was made primarily for TTS, where price isn't a factor. If you were to make this on paper, I would try to get as many lands that tutor for a land as possible and make sure you have the land that makes everything a forest. It's kind of key to avoiding headaches.\n\n Since codie creates every color, he can default cast numerous spells without needing to worry about their colors. However, some spells require two, or rarely, 3 pips of one color. If this is the case you need an extra land of that color ready and waiting. This is why he has several trilands and duallands. Gives him options. The most important are probably the islands or mountains, and least important are swamps. \n\nSideboard is for the monster in me that wants 7 board wipes. If I decide to put them back in, take out Counter spell that makes treasures, counterspell that makes thropters, and migration call that makes birds. Those cards exist to shore up some weaknesses (like lack of flying defense, and having extra mana specifically for counterspells)\n\nThis is my first deck, and this was made primarily for playing with my friends.
