The intended way to win is worryingly enough commander damage. I added "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Nettlecyst"}},{"insert":" as the main way to power up the commander along with both "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Blackblade Reforged"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Empyrial Plate"}},{"insert":" in the event that our artifact count is rightfully hindered. (I disliked the art of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Empyrial Plate"}},{"insert":" enough that I exchanged it for "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Excalibur, Sword of Eden"}},{"insert":". It often costs very little but does have a bit of pushback with the tutors that care about the mana value of the target.) (Replaced "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Blackblade Reforged"}},{"insert":" with the "},{"insert":{"card-link":"The Millennium Calendar"}},{"insert":" as a wincon that does not require swinging)\n\nThere is a large amount of Tutoring as I like to have a consistent route to similar game plans. I plan to stick with 3 or less game changers in order to try to stay within the 3rd bracket. Although, with the amount of tutors in the list, I am more than comfortable ruling it as a bracket 4 deck if it turns out to be stronger than expected. I tried to avoid including cards that could result in any obvious infinite combos such as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Academy Manufactor"}},{"insert":" or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dramatic Reversal"}},{"insert":". \n\nAn important note is that I built this deck with the specific intention of not flipping "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student // Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar"}},{"insert":" to her back side. Her back side is extremely relevant in basically any deck that could fit her in the deck. However, I intend to mainly use her front side to build up artifact count and do some commander beatdown. I'm sure there will be a reasonable amount of situations where one might want to flip her in order to return an Instant or Sorcery to your hand the following turn, but the plan is to avoid doing so as much as possible. Tamiyo comes down absurdly early allowing for the deck start the game with a value engine on the first turn of the game practically every time. There is a large portion of the time where the right play is to ignore the "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sol Ring"}},{"insert":" in a starting hand in favor of getting Tamiyo out to start building up clues right away. \n\nA big elephant in the room is the decision to make little to no use of the green color identity of Tamiyo despite her being a Simic commander. I was originally looking for a mono blue commander to make this deck but I chose her because I drew her from a pack. It does allow the inclusion of any green cards that don't actually need green mana to be cast. I chose to use "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Elvish Spirit Guide"}},{"insert":" as a source of fast mana and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Obscuring Haze"}},{"insert":" as a fog. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Noxious Revival"}},{"insert":" was originally in the list as a great way to get a card back to hand for 2 life and a draw. It ended up outside the list at the current time of making this but it could find its way back in to the list if I find that I need more recursion. (Enough game states have come up where I would rather have "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Noxious Revival"}},{"insert":" than an extra mana from "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Elvish Spirit Guide"}},{"insert":" that I swapped them.)\n\nIn general I look for hands that have mana acceleration or a low cost card draw engine such as,"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Combat Research"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Curious Obsession"}},{"insert":", or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Faerie Mastermind"}},{"insert":". "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Curious Inquiry"}},{"insert":" is also a good way to flood the board with clue tokens. The deck is able to function on 2 lands a decent amount of time as you can use the clues generated by Tamiyo to dig for land drops. The deck is not trying to turbo out a win, but instead wants the game to go long in order to acrew as much value from the small advantage engine in the command zone. The deck borders somewhere between midrange and control in order to stay alive. The deck is also notably devoid of many creatures so be wary of any agro players you can't interact meaningfully with.\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Other cards of note:"},{"insert":"\n\nI shoehorned "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Tamiyo's Journal"}},{"insert":" in the deck for flavor but it turned out to be a decently useful artifact generator and repeatable tutor.\n\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Emry, Lurker of the Loch"}},{"insert":" functions as a version of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Salvaging Station"}},{"insert":". Despite it not being able loop more than one bauble per turn, it is able to cast practically any artifact from the graveyard such a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Gilded Lotus"}},{"insert":". \n\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Step Through"}},{"insert":" is used as a second copy of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Emry, Lurker of the Loch"}},{"insert":" along with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Archaeomancer"}},{"insert":" . Originally "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Vedalken Aethermage"}},{"insert":" was also included as the 3rd copy of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Emry, Lurker of the Loch"}},{"insert":" but it ended being cut for other tutors. ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Venser, Shaper Savant"}},{"insert":" was also added and can be tutored for)\n\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Codex Shredder"}},{"insert":" is included as a way to get back any card back from the graveyard repeatedly with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Salvaging Station"}},{"insert":". It also fuels the graveyard if you already have a way to recur artifacts from the graveyard.\n\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Treasure Vault"}},{"insert":" is an incredible mana sink that makes a large amount of artifacts in the form of treasure tokens. A normally underwhelming effect of banking mana for a later turn becomes incredible when used along side of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Clock of Omens"}},{"insert":" in order to tap 2 treasure tokens to untap a mana rock. Any mana rock that makes more than 1 mana practically makes the treasures tap for mana turn after turn. This is was all blown out of the water when I realized that this could be repeated turn after turn by recurring it with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Salvaging Station"}},{"insert":". I have put tutors specifically for lands but this can actually be tutored by any of the artifact tutors as well.\n\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Liquimetal Torque"}},{"insert":" ended up being much more applicable in this deck than normal. As long as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Clock of Omens"}},{"insert":" is on the field, you can at base give Tamiyo vigilance by untapping her after attacking. The real value becomes apparent when combined with any of the utility lands run in the deck. Untapping a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Terrain Generator"}},{"insert":" or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Horizon of Progress"}},{"insert":" to put multiple lands from your hand on the battle field feels great when nothing required interaction. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Fomori Vault"}},{"insert":" is an easy way to dig through the deck extremely quickly for anything that may be missing. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Academy Ruins"}},{"insert":" is also able to used in reaction to any graveyard hate that might get rid of key pieces.\n\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Nexus of Fate"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Commit // Memory"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cephalid Coliseum"}},{"insert":" are here not only as subpar par utility, but serve as anti mill tech. If the opponents intend to win with a mill combo that does not force you to draw, as long as it was in the library when milled, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Nexus of Fate"}},{"insert":" will remain as the last card in library allowing you to take infinite turns. You can build and infinite amount of clues by attacking each turn with Tamiyo if she is able to not die in combat. However, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Commit // Memory"}},{"insert":" allows you to shuffle everyone's graveyard back into their deck allowing you to stop you and anyone left from drawing empty. You can do both to reset with an insane amount of clues if Tamiyo is safe to swing. Notably this only works if you have enough mana to cast either "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Nexus of Fate"}},{"insert":" or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Commit // Memory"}},{"insert":". "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cephalid Coliseum"}},{"insert":" is here as a hail marry to try and snipe any "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Laboratory Maniac"}},{"insert":" abusers that chose to mill before playing their win con or in conjunction with removal.
