Despite that, what made me fall in love with this card is the second part of that ability. Each player reveals the top card of their library and if it's a permanent they put it onto the battlefield! I have seen many games where the game gets stalled by stax or someone has missed land drops only to find the game gets completely lopsided. Vaevictis can pull back on the player ahead and give tokens to be sacrificed for the ones that have fallen behind. With this deck my main goal is to make sure players get to do their thing!\n\nThe biggest problem with a lot of group hug decks is that they give bonuses to everyone indiscriminately, even those who are already far ahead. While I might have Group Hug cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rootweaver Druid"}},{"insert":" I'm far more in favor of the Welfare style cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Clackbridge Troll"}},{"insert":" or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire"}},{"insert":" that I can direct to a specific player. There's lots of opportunities to use this politically but I'm often giving out gifts without asking for anything in return. The most political this deck has ever gotten was when a player missed two land drops I used my "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Fertilid"}},{"insert":" to have them get a land (they looked at me with the most distrust I have ever seen while they searched that deck) and the Atraxa player who had also missed a land drop had seen this and asked if he proliferated Fertilid would I give him a land, I agreed and he kept my Fertilid well stocked.\n\nSince I'm always wanting to hit off of Vaevictis I could use cards like the Temple lands or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Haunted Crossroads"}},{"insert":" to make sure there's something good on top, but I can also just fill my deck with nothing but permanents. In Permanent Panic there's some fun cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Pyxis of Pandemonium"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dreamshaper Shaman"}},{"insert":" that will also never miss but it also opens up the opportunity for a fun subtheme. How many instants and sorceries can I play in a deck that has none? With the Spellslinger cards I'm looking to cast my opponents' spells with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Wand of Wonder"}},{"insert":", copy them with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Wandering Archaic // Explore the Vastlands"}},{"insert":" (Yes, I have also cast the back side), or luck into them with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dead Man's Chest"}},{"insert":". Currently my record is nine in a single game.\n\nWith Vaevictis at the helm it would seem like it's easy enough to go on the offensive but when I decide to go for a win a large portion of the deck becomes dead draws and I wind up relying on a 6/6 flier to be my one win condition. Instead my win condition in this deck is \"How many cool things did my opponents get to do?\" If my opponents won using some cool stuff they flipped off the top of their deck then I've done a good job!\n\n"}]}
