Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"BEHOLD!!!! THE HYDRASTORM!!!!\n\nThe goal of this deck is to make your bracket 2 pods extremely confused as you declare that you are about to play your \"abzan aristocrats non-deterministic creature storm\" deck. And also to hydrastorm--but that goes without saying.\n\nThis deck is super high variance, and is quite draw dependent as all aristocrats and combo decks tend to be. You have to have the warriors spirit in order to hydrastorm: you must remember that the point of Magic is not always to win, sometimes, it's to be silly goofy with it.\n\nMulligan for a fair number of lands, usually 3 is a good option, as 100% of our draw options start at CMC 3 or greater. An ideal starting hand will have one of these big draw engine effects in hand (morbid opportunist and phyrexian arena are the worst pulls for a draw engine but will do to get you started). Stick your draw engine--and hopefully a drain life effect--and the begin hydrastorming by casting any X mana cost creature for X = 0 in order for it to *instantly* die and go to the graveyard. Eventually feel free to cast your commander(hopefully for less than 5 mana), as it will enable you to get a (relatively) free cast/death trigger each turn!\n\nContinue drawing through your deck with successive hydra casts, hopefully drawing into more hydras, more drain effects, and our GOLDMINE cards, being the following: Life Insurance Policy, Pitiless Plunderer, Drivnod Carnage Dominus, and Teysa Karlov. Life insurance Policy and Pitiless Plunderer will eventually net you functionally infinite mana, and Driv and Teysa will make you go "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"stupid"},{"insert":" mode through your deck. be warned though, there's a reason they're in the Biblical Greed tag, and that's because those two trigger doublers can easily make you kill yourself if you have two or more draw engines out.\n\nThis isn't "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"technically"},{"insert":" a true storm deck, as you can essentially pause your wincon halfway through if you run out of gas on one turn, and you don't need to do any sequencing or stack manipulating.
