{"ops":[{"insert":"Originally I had planned to make this a big stompy red deck, however I then was told Mars isn't big, its actually smaller than earth and after looking at the options for commanders I decided to lean into heavy attacks. I think the goad mechanic has potential for power rather than a one time protection/damage card to stay safe from the biggest monster for a turn, so we went with the only card to provide a constant effect. I think it's interesting that when Mars hits the game everyone is affected by a urge of aggression making them all attack each other. As strong as goad is it comes with a major flaw, once there is just you and an opponent (and usually a person with the strongest creatures) every creature must attack if able and attack a player other than you "},{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"if able"},{"insert":" so they will forcibly swing all out at you every turn if able until one of you dies. so you'll have to be a little strategic about your attacks luckily goading all your opponents creatures makes them tap out so you can get your commander through so start chipping who needs to die before that inevitable end.\n\nthere is a weird sort of voltron theme going on because equipment's was really the only way to make Baeloth bigger for the goad mechanic and this makes it pretty good for dealing a large amount of commander damage, it wasn't exactly planned but ended up being the result. Baeloth is doing the heavy lifting for our goad plan as the rest of the deck needs him to be big and our opponents to hit each other, take damage, and lose creatures so we can get our treasures. mana and draw are not easily come by in mono red so we do reckless exiling off the top and treasures rather than rocks for main source since equipment's ate a lot of slotting for our deck. overall I am happy with how this came out and think it poses a significant threat to the other planetary decks.\n"}]}
