Esper’s core is pragmatic, seeking perfection and control in response to nature’s chaos—politics is the natural path here. I previously tried a political build with Azorius, but it was stax-heavy, and no one enjoyed playing against it, so I shifted to this deck instead. Adding black helps pivot the focus away from strict stax and toward a faster game plan, hopefully making it more fun for opponents.\nEsper isn’t about fairness; it’s about creating systems that serve a calculated agenda, even if that means bending the rules. So, when I found a commander like Tivit who embodies a bit of “cooking the books,” it was a perfect match. Tivit's treasure token generation even sidesteps the need for natural mana. In Esper fashion, Tivit embodies a self-sustaining system that avoids relying on nature.
