Build up your hand by using as many draw effects as possible so you can get the most out of cards like Psychosis Crawler and Body of Knowledge; all while building up Alrund’s power to obscene heights. \n\nThe Boots allows you to add protection and haste so that Alrund can attack at leisure. Twenty-Toed Toad can win the game on the spot. Having the Boots (Swiftfoot, Lavaspur, and Lightning Greaves) available to you means that you can use these attack triggers much more quickly, while also simultaneously protecting your win-cons.\n\nWith Alrund gaining so much power based on the number of cards in your hand, he becomes a win-con on his own, letting you play something like a Voltron strategy. Nerd Rage cuts the amount of cards in hand you need in half for Alrund to one-shot someone. Unblockable effects like Whispersilk Cloak and Silver Shroud Costume allow you to swing in for game with your heavy-hitters like Alrund, Body of Knowledge, Toothy, Chasm Skulker, and Psychosis Crawler. \n\nFinally, you have the “Brainstorm” effects. For the purposes of this, I've called any card that lets you rearrange the cards on top of your deck as the LAST thing they do (like Serum Visions, Rivendell's Scry effect, Brainstorm's \"place 2 cards on the top of your deck,\" etc), OR manipulates 3 of more cards from the top of the deck WITHOUT drawing all 3 (like Portent or Ponder). Most of these cards are mediocre on their own, but with Alrund on the field they become excellent. Simply use cards like Dream Cache or Brainstone to draw 3 cards, place 2 cards of the same type on the top of your deck, then Alrund’s effect lets you return them to your hand at the end of the turn, guaranteed. It turns them into incredible value pieces. Brainsurge is a 3-mana draw-four, Brainstorm is a 1-mana draw-three, all with no drawbacks. It makes for a very effective way to build up your hand size, especially with the draw doublers like Teferi’s Endless Insight & Thought Reflection. Just make sure that your Brainstorm effects are the LAST thing you play in a turn, so you can make full use of Alrund's effect.\n"}]}
