The only real payoffs are "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Maze's End"}},{"insert":" (winning is good, obviously), "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Baldur's Gate"}},{"insert":" (which is reasonable - I'm generally far less impressed than I am with a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cloudpost"}},{"insert":" or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Urza's Tower"}},{"insert":" , but it's fine in the mid-game) and making "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sage of the Maze"}},{"insert":" better (though he's already pretty good with just the everything counters). The big downsides of the gates are the comes-in-tappedness of them, and the fact they're taking up slots in the land base. I'm fairly convinced fetches and all the Island/Forest lands would make the deck play smoother; but I just really wanted to do Maze's End. Might end up swapping the package out when I've had my fill of it!\n\nIf I had to describe this deck, it'd be a pile of synergistic landfall pieces that often ending up falling together in a way to combo out the game. This is not a streamlined, tutor-heavy, linear combo deck, and you'll probably find yourself discovering combos and unusual play-lines by the game; it's been a hoot to play so far.
