{"ops":[{"insert":"Math is for blockers.\n\nThis deck is inspired by the classic budget Modern deck 8-whack. \nI wanted to keep the core strengths and weaknesses of the iconic deck. \nThe deck comes in at a respectable budget, just over $100 comparable to the 60 card inspiration also heralded as a friendly budget deck. \n\nReal talk. It's not a heavily Goblin theme'd deck. While I understand that some variants of 8-whack are Goblin focused, I did not take this route. I was more drawn to the broad game plan of Whack decks. Fill the board, pump the squad, win before your opponent(s) are able to get their board wipes. \n\nErkenbrand makes for a wonderful choice within this game plan. His ability to make himself, and each human that enters a \"Whack buff\" means that with the correct balance of low costed humans you could get upwards of 3 or 4 buffs in a single turn. \n\nThe stage is set, E-brand can buff the team whack after whack, this is the ideal. But all Whacker know sometimes closing the game out can take some desperate moves. This is where some odd choices shine. at the top of the creature curve, Graaz, unstoppable Juggernaut is a bomb shell of a wiggly buddy that can turn your 1/1 in to a 5/3. A powerful jump that could catch any deck light on blockers a frightening reality check. If that sneaky trick doesn't catch someone with their blockers tapped Tears of Rage certainly will. When it comes to risky moves nothing beats maximizing the power of your whole team, only to sacrifice them after. \n\nThe deck has tradition avenues to maximize damage as well, City on Fire, Uncivil Unrest, Shared Animosity are all fantastic ways to gain extra damage out of the small creatures this deck is full of. Isengard Unleashed is a personal favorite of mine, being able to cast it for a turn of surprise lethality, and have it available to flashback for additional pain, is truly wonderful.\n\nWhat is a Whack'n deck without it's stars though? Goblin bushwhacker and reckless bushwhacker couldn't help but join the party even some of the other Whacks joined the fun like Castle Embereth, Contested War Zone. But some new friends have joined the crew, with commanders vast card pool we are able to include honorable Whacks such as Zariel, First day of class, Goblin Oriflamme each powering up our small but mighty warriors. \n\nWhat could be better than Humans entering with a Whack effect? When the creature itself has an anthem; such as Embereth skyblazer, Roit ringleader, and reakless pyrosurfer. Adding Bonks the to the Whack that this deck will be dishing out. \n\nThe deck is fast, however there are downsides, much like it's 60 card predecessor, this mono-red commander deck does not do much to gain card advantage, making due with cost effective cards like Wrenn's resolve, and light up the stage. \n\nTo the same point the deck is both soft and light on interaction. I understand that I could add cards to change this, however I'm not sure the cards needed to solve that issue would be in the spirit of a 8-whack style deck. \n\nThe deck is fast, brutal, inconsistent, and shocking when it fires on all cylinders. In this regard I am happy to present it as a 8-whack inspired commander deck.\n"}]}
