{"ops":[{"insert":"https://archidekt.com/decks/9783929/nuts_and_bolts\n\nI'm not sure if I'm just not doing a very good search, but "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kenrith, the Returned King"}},{"insert":" is the only one I could come up with for the rest of the 99. I'm good with it being 4 colors and I know it's probably not the most efficient deck, but something fun I wanted to try. I'm not sure if there's specifically an Ink commander I can use for this instead of the 5 color Kenrith. \n\nAnyone have any ideas?\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Having a look at your deck list, and some of the below suggestions, I did some scryfalling and here's what I found:\n\nIn general, if you want to stay in 4 colours (sans black), then you won't really be able to have a commander totally suited to a +1/+1 counter theme. All the legal commanders who are WURG are generic value creatures, such as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Aragorn, the Uniter"}},{"insert":" who GlitchHunter suggested, or my personal fave "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis"}},{"insert":". \nThe partner pairs that let you stay in WURG are also not particularly suitable to +1/+1 counters; your best options being things like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Akiri, Line-Slinger"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix"}},{"insert":". \n\nWhen moving out of strictly WURG though, your options get a lot better for commanders who support the deck better. You suddenly gain options of things like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Slurrk, All-Ingesting"}},{"insert":", who would synergise nicely with any sacrifice effects you may have, and highly disincentives your opponents from removing your creatures - if they do, your whole board grows bigger. Other good options are "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Alharu, Solemn Ritualist"}},{"insert":", or, if you want to tap into black, then "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cazur, Ruthless Stalker"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ukkima, Stalking Shadow"}},{"insert":". \n\nBut in all honesty, I think "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kenrith, the Returned King"}},{"insert":" is actually a good option and find! It always feels a bit weird to not totally utilise all the text on a commander, but it's not a bad thing, and being in 5 Colour also opens up some great options for some cards that would be powerhouses in this sort of deck. Things like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Alesha, Who Laughs at Fate"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Meren of Clan Nel Toth"}},{"insert":" (who synergises nicely with Ezuri), or any other commander you might like as suggested by the other replies who you can just chuck in the 99. \nBeing in 5 colour, you also have access to cards you normally couldn't run with a 4 colour commander due to colour identity issues. If you are worried about colour fixing, then "},{"insert":{"card-link":"The World Tree"}},{"insert":" will fix that for you, which you couldn't run in 4 colour - and you're already running Arcane Signet, Command Tower, and Birds of Paradise, so odds are when you want Black mana for the 1 or 2 things that use it, you'll have it there. You can discount your artifacts with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Umori, the Collector"}},{"insert":", or bring back your 0-2 mana nonland permanents with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lurrus of the Dream-Den"}},{"insert":". Plenty out there to work with.\n\nDespite the name of the format, there's nothing wrong with building a deck that doesn't totally revolve around the commander, but still has a solid game plan! Build what you like, and what feels right.\n\nHope any of this helps, and happy brewing!\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"I've thought a lot about what you have here. Thank you for the plethora of information to consider. I'm leaning now toward keeping Kenrith and trimming it down to 3 or even 2 colors, but having a preset sideboard per color that I can easily swap out for testing, casual games, etc. It's meant to be a casual deck anyhow, and I think it might be fun to have those options available. I've also just discovered the Mentor mechanic (I've... been away for a while) and I think it would be interesting to be able to work some of that into the deck as well.\n\nThank you for your comments and suggestions. It's given me quite a bit to think about in revamping this deck a bit.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Red isn't contributing much to the decklist; if you were to consider Bant, you could consider "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Galadriel, Light of Valinor"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Helga, Skittish Seer"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Morska, Undersea Sleuth"}},{"insert":", or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ms. Bumbleflower"}},{"insert":", and if you add Black (which has lots of +1/+1 counter support, i.e. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Corpsejack Menace"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Winding Constrictor"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cursed Wombat"}},{"insert":"), you could consider "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Reyhan, Last of the Abzan"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Akiri, Line-Slinger"}},{"insert":" as Partner commanders\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"I like this card. It'd be pretty useful in the 99, but I'd have a fair bit of reworking to do if I made it commander.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Thank you! Aragorn looks like it would be super helpful in this deck instead of Kenrith.\n\nDo you happen to know of a commander that, like Kenrith, can provide permanent +1 counters instead of ones that go away at the end of the turn?\n"}]}
