This ensures each color plays differently, and allows players to express themselves through the cards they choose to include in their decks. Each of these identities can also be interpreted in different ways, which opens up many different styles of play even among the same colors.\n\nWith thirty years of cards to choose from, however, there's no reason to limit your deckbuilding to what the color pie says. Every year we get new cards that push and pull the colors in different directions. Can you build a WR landfall deck, or a RG control deck? What about a UR lifegain deck? You're not supposed to, but that shouldn't stop us from trying.\n\nThis is also a great exercise for a color you're very familiar with. Thinking outside the box is a great way to break old patterns and reignite a passion you might've lost. Similarly, this could be the perfect time to revisit a color pair you don't like. {"ops":[{"insert":"My deck is Golgari artifacts, leaded by Armix and Ich-tekik (and the third commander, THE token golem).\n\nI started building this deck a while a go. Cranial plating is one of my favourite cards, so I wanted to build a deck where I could play it. As well, I didn't have any partners commander deck, so decided to start from there. One of them had to be black at least. The only two partner commanders that are artifacts as well were (and still if I'm not mistaken) Armix and Silas. I thought they could make a good pair, giving Silas the ability to play whichever artifact was discarded with Armix. But what I started building wasn't really the playstyle I was looking for, wasn't necessarily bad, but ended up relying too much on evasion and protection, besides I already had another dimir deck, so I ended up discarding this initial approach. Then I was looking in other color combinations, and came up with two other options: Ich-Tekik and Rebbec. And whether I honestly thought Rebbec would be a better option and that Ich-Tekik was underwhelming (a 1/1 for 5 mana that does something IF?), I couldn't resist when I realised Armix was a golem itself, It just looked that they both were meant to be together. So I decided to take that route (which would also allow to include Glissa the traitor, another card I'm a big fan of).\nI wanted to make it centred on playing a lot of cheap artifacts and getting value out of sacrificing them rather than on golems. So started including a lot of cheap expendable artifacts and ways to make artifact tokens (which, surprisingly, are not short in green, finally made Fae offering work!) to try to make the most out of both Armix and Ich-Tekik's abilities, and it allows to fill some gaps like card draw, ramp or graveyard hate.\n\nThe game plan in general is not too complicated. Turn 1, play an artifact. Turn 2, Play an artifact. Turn 3, play Armix and start talking to people. I've found people generally tend to assume Armix is going to kill their thing, and wont feel safe until they get rid of Armix. But Armix can only kill one thing per turn, and not everything on the board is a threat (plus it starts as a 3/2, so it can be risky to swing with it carelessly). I have found that making early deals to not kill peoples manadorks drastically increases the performance of the deck, so try to convince them that Armix can be their friend rather than something to fear (at least for now, I always try to be honest on that). Then on the later turns keep deploying artifacts, and when you have the mana (and nothing better to play) bring in Ich-Tekik with his little friend and subtlely start sacrificing artifacts to make the team grow (keep an eye on the others players, as it counts their artifacts as well, and everyone has treasures, right?). Then keep swinging and building the board.\nI've been playing the deck consistently now for around 6 months, and it has positively surprised me. The deck is consistent enough. Armix can commonly give -5/-5 or -6/-6 to something on turn 4 (being able to kill almost anything needed at that stage of the game, and can easily go up to -12/-12 further on the game). The tokens provided by Ich-Tekik really build up, being reasonable to have a 8/7, a 6/6, and a 8/8 one or two turns after you play it (this suddenly makes commander damage relevant). The deck can maintain a certain level of functionality without the commanders until you can recast them or find other of the strong cards in the deck, but its frail to repeated target removal (ironically).\nI'm still working on it, there are some cards I'm still not sure of, and the deck would really appreciate more evasion, protection, and noncreature removal. As well, a way to take advantage of the cards discarded with Armix would be great. A reanimation package would be great for that, but I have tried to avoid it due to golgari reanimator ubiquity.\nAny comments and suggestions are more than welcome.\n\nhttps://archidekt.com/decks/11248492/armix_filigree_thrasher_ichtekik_salvage_splicer\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Here's my take on a mono-blue burn deck, which was actually a trait of blue for alot of early mtg. It sets up Loreth of the healing house with an untapper and a tap to deal damage card, which once set up does infinite damage(muahaha). Due to the combo's requirement of all three creatures needing to be legendary, the damage wizards are Revka wizard savant which is a legend, but zuran spellcaster can use the ring tempts you mechanic to become legendary. Step through can wizardcycle for revka, but also wizards that can untap and can be made legendary by the same one ring mechanic. There's more blue burn cards, but also a viridian longbow which can be tutored for when you cant draw another win con. To be more viable it has other win conditions such as self mill with kitsa otterball elite and laboratory maniac, but that can also be used to search for your burn cards. It also has another combo that produces infinite mana that can untap burn cards infinitely. In playtesting this deck wins around turn 6 on average while still leaving some mana up for protection, but can win turn 3 with a perfect hand.\n\nIt might not fit the spirit of the contest 100% but I had a blast making it\n\nhttps://archidekt.com/decks/10962820\n"}]}
