The more concrete your vision, the easier it'll be to find cards that fit.\nThis could be related to the art, such as including only cards that show a certain animal, or chairs. It could also be mechanical, such as requiring each card to reference the number four, or contain only prime numbers.\nYou could also think more abstractly. What would Twelfth Night look like as a Commander deck? What cards would you choose to represent your favorite vacation spot?\n\nFor the truly mechanically minded out there, combo decks aren't off the table for this challenge either. Since you're in Bracket 1 you can't include any two-card infinite combos, or tutors to help put the pieces together, this is the perfect chance to show off a convoluted combo that requires too many cards for a \"normal\" deck.\nExtra bonus points if your combo doesn't win the game, but creates a unique board state, or showcases a niche rules interaction.\n\nWhile the idea is important, the key to success with this month's prompt will be the individual cards you include. As many cards as possible should be included to support your theme or idea.\nScryfall is an excellent tool for finding the exact card you need. In fact, this deck is dedicated to finding all of the "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"best"},{"insert":" ways to break Mindslaver and turn its otherwise pretty mid ability to control your opponent into an absolute workhorse of an ability that can absolutely make Ricky look foolish. That's right, when I take control of Ricky I can have him use all of his targeted removal spells on any of my permanents and not have him pay the four life. He loses all of his best spells and a full turn. But what if Ricky has spells that would benefit my permanents? Either way, Ricky has been pranked so hard his ego will become unmoored ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Unmoored Ego"}},{"insert":" not included)! But what is included? Usually giving people a choice in magic is something I consider to be a cardinal sin, but somehow Ricky will always make the choice that helps my position most. What a silly little fella!\n\nTwo other ways that this deck can setup absolutely baller plays with Mindslaver double as generically fun multiplayer dynamics even without Mindslaver. The first of these themes is hot potatoes, particularly "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Jinxed Idol"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Jinxed Ring"}},{"insert":". Even without Mindslaver these cards are enjoyable as a gimmick to pass around the table, but by donating these to Ricky while he's under my control I can get him to wipe his own board by retaining priority and repeatedly putting the pass ability on the stack until he is out of creatures. It might be the dirtiest thing the deck is capable of, but arguably less disrespectful than a lot of the other gimmicks and a good way to put Ricky out of his misery. The other theme is cards that allow any player to pay to activate their ability such as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Xantcha, Sleeper Agent"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Warmonger"}},{"insert":". These cards allow for a fun dynamic for most of the match but also give me something to do with Ricky's mana (or cards, in the case of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Oona's Prowler"}},{"insert":") when he doesn't have any other plays that I care to make on his behalf. A particularly fun way to finish Ricky off might be to have him drain himself with Xantcha.\n\nLike most \"secret commander\" decks, the main hurdle is to get Mindslaver out. However, since the fun police nerfed casual secret commander decks by deciding that tutoring is a geld-able offense in low-bracket EDH, I had to settle for a slew of \"Technically Not Tutors\" that let me rifle through chunks of cards of the top of my deck looking for Mindslaver. These card selection pieces range from above average to a bit overpriced but, since I'm getting banished to one of my "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Island"}},{"insert":"s if I try to cast a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Diabolic Tutor"}},{"insert":", I needed to have enough cards like this to afford missing Mindslaver a handful of times. Suffice it to say I've dedicated more deck space to this than I would prefer, but it was necessary in order to hopefully cast Mindslaver before a gothic architecture tribal deck wins on turn twenty or before Ricky's fifteen step combo deck wins on turn thirty.\n\nTo get back to how I make a fool of poor Ricky, one of the ways I found to "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"totally break"},{"insert":" Mindslaver can also help me to dig towards Mindslaver if necessary. This is the set of five instant speed "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Fact or Fiction"}},{"insert":"-type cards in a category that I call \"Premium Piles\". These cards allow me to totally meme on Ricky by casting them at instant speed while I have control of him, effectively allowing me to puppet-master him into spoon-feeding me a stacked pile with a stupid amount of value (what a fool).\n\nWhat if one of those effects puts Mindslaver in the bin? Well, I've got some ways to \"Get My Babyback Babyback\" anyways since you have to sacrifice Mindslaver to use its ability. I run a good number of these cards in order to perpetuate the game plan of memeing on Ricky, including: "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Daretti, Rocketeer Engineer"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge"}},{"insert":", and the perpetually undervalued "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Beacon of Unrest"}},{"insert":". "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Trading Post"}},{"insert":" Ricky isn't getting off the hook that easy. Additionally, this deck includes a three card combo that makes recurring Mindslaver more consistent when its up and running. The combo is "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Goblin Welder"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Forensic Gadgeteer"}},{"insert":" + Mindslaver, which allows me to repeatedly pull back Mindslaver from the graveyard with Goblin Welder by sacrificing the clue produced by Forensic Gadgeteer. Welder and Gadgeteer are both valuable pieces in the deck in their own right since Welder is already an above average recursion piece and Gadgeteer's cost reduction may look small, but can often mean getting to use Mindslaver earlier and more often.\n\nSpeaking of cost reduction I have a handful of cards that reduce the cost of getting Mindslaver onto the board and help me get it activated. In addition to the cost reducers I also have a couple of generically good ways to print out wads of colorless mana including the "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"game changing *cough cough*"},{"insert":" "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sol Ring"}},{"insert":". I also run "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Terisiare's Devastation"}},{"insert":" which in addition to making a respectable amount of Powerstone tokens can get me out of a pinch with its ability to wipe the board.\n\nA fair question might be, \"what if Ricky doesn't pose a threat?\" or, \"what if there's no value to be gained from Mindsaving Ricky?\" Well, first off, Ricky is always a threat. I'm not just picking on a generic nincompoop, this guy plays stuff that routinely wins out of nowhere. Even down here in bracket one, I'll use "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Telepathy"}},{"insert":" to monitor what this toolbox-combo-arse-son-of-a-gun is doing so I can keep him on as short of a leash as possible while I strategically pick my shots.\n\nFinally, I run a couple of cards that give me some value for casting or sacrificing the Mindslaver. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ovika, Enigma Goliath"}},{"insert":" gives me six goblins everytime I cast Mindslaver and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Slagstone Refinery"}},{"insert":" gives me a Powerstone every time I sac Mindslaver and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Summoning Station"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sly Requisitioner"}},{"insert":" both also reward me with tokens for sacrificing Mindslaver. All of these cards help to ensure my ability to survive while trying to pull of my various gimmicks. Also, I am aware that Mindslaver as an archetype is a bit more intense than what most people probably picture for an exhibition match, but attempting to reach this deck's ceiling is routinely harder than playing Donkey Kong without any ladders, and is definitely intended to prioritize humor and showmanship over actually winning. Unless I missed anything, there should also be no combos in this deck that are always able to result in winning on the spot and it is highly unlikely that this deck will be able to lock anyone out of the game before several turns deep into the late-game when other decks might be starting to approach a possible win. Furthermore, exiling Mindslaver entirely disarms the deck, and although one could theoretically add "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Karn, the Great Creator"}},{"insert":" as a clever way to rescue Mindslaver from exile, without access to tutors this is too inconsistent to justify the card slot at this bracket over something more consistently fun. The moment when you crack an egg and everyone leans forward in their seats as you start revealing cards off the top of your library is exciting. But I decided to take it step further. Before each game, I randomly shuffle twenty creatures from a larger set, listed in this decklist as the sideboard. This way, not only do I not know what's at the top of my library, I don't know what's in the library. This had led to some other unique deckbuilding decisions. There are no tutors, not even a rampant growth, because I don't want to look through my library at all. I've put in some less ideal lands that fix me because I don't know what the color balance of my deck will be from game to game. But even that wasn't enough. I wanted to add risk to the randomness. So in tribute to the classic game show \"Press Your Luck\" I added whammies. When I crack an egg, I could hit a prize, like a Kozilek, an Etali, or even a Blightsteel. I could hit a classic creature like a Serra or a Shivan. I could hit a bad creature like a Hurloon Minotaur or a Camel. But I could also hit an Eater of Days or a Leveler, which would end my game. It adds a whole new dimension to this deck. \n\nhttps://archidekt.com/decks/11425761/atla_palani\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Caw-Blade"},{"attributes":{"header":1},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nThis submission is a fully functional Bracket 1 exhibition deck that is based on the infamous Caw-Blade standard deck that took over the standard meta in 2011. Tl;dr it runs all the iconic cards from 2011 Caw-Blade with more birds, swords, brainstorm effects and shuffling effects! The commander is an indestructible bird that wears equipment well and has top of library synergy. Caw Caw!\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"A Brief History of Caw-Blade"},{"insert":"\n\nThe Caw-Blade standard deck stood on the shoulders of the Caw-Go standard deck which was designed by fan favorite MTG pro Brian Kibler. Caw-Go was a control deck that ran Jace the Mind Sculptor and the only creature in the deck was 4 x Squadron Hawk. Jace's \"0\" ability functioned as a brainstorm on a stick once a turn. After the Brainstorm, the deck's pilot could play squadron hawk as a shuffle ability to shuffle away the unwanted cards from the top of the deck. Pretty fun if you're the pilot.\n\nCaw-Blade ran this same interaction but also ran Stoneforge Mystic which allowed Caw-Blade's pilot to tutor for the best swords in the standard meta and cheat them out onto the battlefield. These swords would be equipped onto the squadron hawk for serious evasion beatdown, hence the name Caw-Blade.\n\nCaw-Blade was being piloted ubiquitously on the standard scene. To name a few - LSV got top 8 at the 2011 US nationals and Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa won the Singapore Grand Prix with it.\n\nThis deck was widely considered to be one of the most dominant decks to ever see standard play. As a result, Stoneforge Mystic and Jace the Mindsculptor were banned from standard play in June of 2011. Worlds would take place after the bans, but the top 8 would have been full of Caw-Blade variants, with Caw-Blade likely winning.\n\nThis all took place just before Modern was even a thing. Stoneforge Mysic and Jace the Mindsculptor were banned from Modern preceding the launch of Modern, for fear of them being too powerful for that format!\n\nIf you played standard at this time, you either loved the deck or hated it, but you will never forget the name, Caw-Blade.\n\n"},{"attributes":{"link":"https://archidekt.com/decks/11769664/cawblade"},"insert":"Caw-Blade âą (Commander deck) âą Archidekt"},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"insert":{"image":"https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/c244f62d-6c7b-4ac1-9319-d87412bebdbf/d3kr2ep-66bec3dc-6983-4f3a-9d01-4df4847922cc.jpg/v1/fill/w_862,h_600,q_75,strp/caw_blade_by_tobiasvyseri_d3kr2ep-fullview.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7ImhlaWdodCI6Ijw9NjAwIiwicGF0aCI6IlwvZlwvYzI0NGY2MmQtNmM3Yi00YWMxLTkzMTktZDg3NDEyYmViZGJmXC9kM2tyMmVwLTY2YmVjM2RjLTY5ODMtNGYzYS05ZDAxLTRkZjQ4NDc5MjJjYy5qcGciLCJ3aWR0aCI6Ijw9ODYyIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmltYWdlLm9wZXJhdGlvbnMiXX0.rtfDw8IEY4Q8mdoIDRffjSRBIGnEZ2JK8gbonicWbxU"}},{"insert":"\n\n\n"}]}
