For example, Tin Fins sounds like a deck built around sea creatures and artifacts. That could be copying Inkwell Leviathan, or suiting merfolk up with as many equipment as possible. Four Horsemen might include only four creatures, each riding a horse, or be a deck built around a four card combo.\n\nSome names are harder to interpret. You might have an idea of what a Fruity Pebbles deck would do, but what about Raisin Bran? Or Nic Fit? The color of Raisin Bran might remind you of the old artifact border, while raisins might represent the desiccated figures of Zombies.\n\nFor Nic Fit you might focus on the apparent typo, and include cards like Zaffai, Thunder Conductor which have spelling mistakes in their text.\n\nOf course, you can pick any deck from the long history of Magic tournaments. Keep in mind, however, that the more strange and cryptic the deck name the more opportunity you have for creative interpretation.\n\nThat shouldn't stop you from exploring an idea for UR Delver or Domain Overlords, but be careful you don't simply recreate that strategy in Commander.\n\n\nHow To Participate"},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"   Brew an EDH/Commander legal deck on Archidekt that satisfies the prompt."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"   Any unreleased cards spoiled during the contest’s duration are allowed."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"   Silver-bordered and acorn cards, while cool, are not allowed."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"   Digital-only cards (such as those designed for the Alchemy format on Arena) are not allowed."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"   Strictly one deck submitted per user."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\n\nReply to the Archidekt newspost, or submission post on the Archidekt Discord with a link to your deck before "},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"9:00 pm EST"},{"insert":" (UTC -4, currently) on "},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Wednesday, May 14, 2025"},{"insert":" (do not submit the same deck in multiple places).\n\nOnly one submission per user! This is a jeskai food deck, headed by our two friends forever out for brunch, Hargilde and Bjorna. Why Jeskai? Well, for the union jack, the red, white and blue, the full English is a British staple after all!\n\nFinding ways to make food is hard in jeskai, only white has a good amount of access, but the deck aims to take advantage of some small creature tutors, some blinking, and some token synergies to make as much food as possible. Hargilde is ready to scarf down as much food as possible, sadly Bjorna has taken to throwing it at others. \n\nEating food, throwing food, gaining life, triggering pingers, drawing cards, it's all as linked to brekkie as possible. \n\n"},{"attributes":{"link":"https://archidekt.com/decks/13031539/full_english_breakfast"},"insert":"Full English Breakfast!"},{"insert":"\n"}]}

Caw Blade's goal was to use Stoneforged Mystic to tutor out Swords and cheat them into play with its ability to equip them to Squadron Hawks. The deck would run only those two creatures and a suite of control to get the job done. Kastral was chosen because... well, CAAAWWW. And it helps give us consistent draw to find equipment or equipment tutors, while also offering wincon potential by pumping the board and letting us win through either a big bird board or voltron commander damage with equipment. \n\nWith that in mind, there are four pillars to our Commander take: Caw, Tutors, Blades, and Control. In the spirit of the original deck, the only creatures we run are birds and tutors (no game changers though). The birds will pump themselves and each other up and synergize with the next part of the deck amazingly well. Shrike Force and the low cost Hawks are my favorites here due to their synergy with the equipment, but Storm Crow is also here because... well, why the hell not? We're running 11 equipment pieces, mostly 'Swords of' cards, but also Hammer of Nazhan to help with equip costs and Blackblade to quickly pump up a flier for big damage late. And for control, we're running multiple one-sided board removal cards (Settle the Wreckage, Aetherize, Raise the Palissade, Harsh Mercy) in addition to spot removal offered by swords, some flash birds, and a couple of flying matters counters. Also under the control pillar are some flying synergy stax pieces: Magus of the Moat, Aven Mindscensor, and Dovescape, which 1000% is not a meme in this deck. Seriously... Dovescape with our commander out, drawing cards and pumping our board, will end the game quickly. \n\nGideon Jura and Jace make an appearance here as callbacks to the original deck. Our dedicated draw count is slightly lower, but Kastral has the potential to draw multiple cards a turn and we have some burst draw from Bident of Thassa, Airborne Aid, and Distant Melody. \n\nThe final odd standout is Jace, Reawakened. I wanted to add a second Jace into the deck since the original plays multipel copies of Jace and this version fit nicely since it can help cheat equipment into play, which was a key component of the original 2011 deck. \n"}]}
