Four Horsemen might include only four creatures, each riding a horse, or be a deck built around a four card combo.\n\nSome names are harder to interpret. {"ops":[{"insert":"Spring Tide\nWhen I first started playing magic I was a standard player who had some starting decks made for me by my uncle. One of these decks was actually named Spring Tide like the suggested deck titles in the prompts. It was a fairly simplistic simic merfolk deck that was okay to play. Inspired by my past deck and the ability to play more than one card in standard I built a Slime Against Humanity deck. I was inspired because as it is currently spring in my area and things are starting to bloom I feel that it would also be a time for oozes to make a return after the cold weather (oozes are weak to the cold). Building off of the prompt of building a story I used the deck to create a DND end of the world campaign in which oozes are over running the world in an overwhelming tide. In my new Spring Tide deck only creatures with attributes needed to survive or defeat oozes are in the deck. Only creatures with flying or fire attributes, either in their names or in their arts, are present in this deck and I attempted to maintain this standard across my other card types as well. I hoped that this deck would allow the player to not only experience good game play with hitting additional oozes from cascading but also allow the player to enter an alternate little DND campaign overrun with oozes.\nPlease Enjoy: https://archidekt.com/decks/13139155/spring_tide \n"}]}

The white rider, Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, will bring pestilence to the table. With each land that enters, he gains power and saps life from your opponent(s). Power him up enough to saddle him to the Gitrog and watch the beast's ability unfold. \n\nThe red rider, Yargle and Multani, is in this deck as well. With its power of 18 itâs geared up for war. Get it on the field, then on the next turn saddle it to the Gitrog for a satisfying payoff. Perhaps you might choose the black rider, Ygra, Eater of All. With its ability to gain power off the destruction of food, itâll power up quickly. Simply sac or destroy any creatures while it's on the field, then saddle it to set the Gitrog off. Finally there is the pale rider, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, who will benefit from the carnage. Sac your creatures from the battlefield or discard them if you wish, the death rider will grow stronger regardless. You can even bring it back for more with the recursion ability. \n\nPlenty of landfall triggers to exploit, especially when this commander goes off. Boost everything with Bristly Bill, Spine Sower and Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, create armies of baloths, badgers, and scute swarms, or deal direct damage from the landfall with iridescent vinelasher and from the card draws with psychosis crawler. Should the landfall triggers not end the game, the potential mana from all the lands will. Wait one more turn and have a host of creatures whose power comes from all the lands you control. Creatures like Lumra, Bellow of the woods, Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar, and Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer will aid you with setting up the battlefield and then reap the rewards by having their power increased by the lands. Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, will drastically increase this thanks to its second ability which turns nontoken creatures into lands. \nCreatures are just as important to this deck as lands, so Honest Rutstein, Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, and Kona, Rescue Beastie, will help get them onto the field. Gyome, Master Chef has been added to give protection to your Four Horsemen and the Gitrog. It can also help trigger Konaâs ability without sending it into battle. You might also want to end the game without an all out assault from the numerous creatures youâll summon and grow. Use the Commander to get a mess of lands onto the field while having the Spelunking enchantment or Tiller Engine out so these lands can be used right away, and finish your opponents off with Exsanguinate and/or Torment of Hail Fire. The ability you're really interested in though is when an egg of yours dies, you essentially cascade til you hit a creature and put it on the battlefield, which will ramp you into your huge dinos way ahead of schedule..\r\n\nThe egg type is more supported than you'd think, so most of the eligible choices are in here such as dinosaur egg, dragon egg, and the classic ruhk egg. \n\nIf your opponents are wise to what you're trying to do and won't attack into your eggs or block when you attack with a dinosaur egg, that's no problem. Wayta lets you have your creatures fight to crack your eggs. It also lets you double Atla's triggers to cheat out two monsters per egg. \n\nMaskwood nexus makes all the rest of our creatures into eggs as well to help ramp further. With only 151 cards in the pool across all five colors, finding a commander that could offer enough color diversity to build a deck around, let alone with a semi-functional plan, was the first hurdle to clear. In the end, the choice of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Henzie \"Toolbox\" Torre"}},{"insert":" was an obvious one. His Jund coloration offered the largest card pool available, with just over 110 legal cards to choose from, and his ability to blitz creatures out at a discount gave me a solid game-plan to build around.\n\nWith every card having the identifying number of â187,â the card pool available to me was a veritable walk through Magicâs history. From Limited Edition Alpha to the most recent set of Commander decks from Tarkir: Dragonstorm, it was amazing to see the diversity of cards that have been published throughout Magicâs history in slot number 187. Now, did that make for a cohesive card pool that worked well together? Not so much.\n\nStill, with Henzieâs focus on creatures mana value 4 or greater, there was a strategy to the madness. Since blitzed creatures are sacrificed as part of the tradeoff for the discount and haste, I decided to try and lean into as many âdiesâ triggers and cards that care about creature cards in the graveyard as possible. Cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Butcher of Malakir"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Pitiless Plunderer"}},{"insert":" help incentivize the death-centric strategy while the likes of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Aatchik, Emerald Radian"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kessig Cagebreakers"}},{"insert":" are some of the token-generating payoffs once enough creatures have hit the bin. \n\nAmusingly enough, that emphasis on creatures dying versus creatures entering is the polar opposite of the original 187 decks, which is a nice bit of flavor for the deck as well. As an additional flavor win, every land is numbered with some portion or rearrangement of the number 187 (since without that allowance the only basic land type that would be allowed in the deck would be Swamps).\n\nOnly being able to work with effectively one card per set made this deck building challenge an exercise in squeezing as much cohesion and coherence out of limited resources. It was a brain-scratching puzzle in the best way and never would I have ever thought to bring the vast majority of this selection of cards together without it. I hope you all enjoy looking over this numerical nonsense as much as I did!\n"}]}

Jacob, not yet drunk and still perceptive, asks an important question though: \"So what's the win-con?\" \n\tNow... you know there's no real win-con, and that part of this \"Deadguy Ale\" experience you're selling to your friend is nothing short of his typical drinking experience. It's going to start off fast and exciting, maybe feel empowering, but by the end of the night he's going to forget it all--or pray that's the case. See, there is no goal of this Deadguy Ale. There is no combo, and Yarus has no plan. He knows two things: Drink, and drink more. But you can't tell that to Jacob; he needs to think the night is going to end with him climbing his mountaintop of victory, just as he has done every night before. So you lie to Jacob. \"Come on buddy, you don't plan the night's victories beforehand, do you? You go out and you take them! Surely you know that alcohol pondered is alcohol wasted?\" Jacob, with his beer in hand, nods in agreement. \n\n\tYou begin to explain the deck to Jacob and show him the promising cards. Dream Chisel and Obscuring Aether let you cast face-down creatures for less mana. Threats Around Every Corner and Trail of Mystery fetch you lands every time a face-down creature enters. Panoptic Projektor even lets you cast face-down spells for free and gets you extra triggers from turning permanents face-up. Now, there is a world in which this deck does get rolling and everything falls into place nicely. A nice dose of gambling is the proper company for a good night of drinking. But let's be clear: It is certainly a gamble. If Yarus is not on the board to trigger his second ability, the creatures just die without being returned to the battlefield. Lastly, he brings back the dead creatures to the battlefield with a second wind, a clearly alcohol-induced fervor. Boot and rally baby! There are some different forms of protection to help Yarus stay alive, but ultimately the deck rings of inevitability as the drinker's blackout takes control.
