Especially for commanders that easily support multiple themes, I invariably end up with a pile of 150 cards that all support different strategies.\n\nInstead of having to put all those extra cards away, why not set them aside to swap in later? This let's you easily test different versions of your deck, or just quickly vary the play experience from game to game. Especially for themes that have significant overlap, like Enchantress, Tokens, and Lands, you can also shift the primary focus of your deck from one to another to stop a deck from ever feeling stale.\n\nA transformational sideboard could also be used to help match the power level of a given pod. When playing at a local game store or convention it's helpful to be flexible with the strength of your deck. Swapping in or out Game Changers, or just adjusting some of the more focused cards in the deck to match a more relaxed pod.\n\nThis also saves space compared to carrying around multiple decks, and is a great approach for rediscovering the magic in an old favorite by reintroducing old cards you cut for upgrades.\n\nTaking this concept as far as possible, you could even swap your commander for a different one, along with a set of cards to better support them. This is a great way to get extra mileage out of an expensive mana base, compare how two similar commanders actually play, or get even more variety in your games.\n\nAt its most extreme, you could change both the commander and theme of your deck, functionally fitting two decks into 120 cards. {"ops":[{"attributes":{"link":"https://archidekt.com/decks/14354712"},"insert":"Crux of Fate — Alesha VS Kolaghan"},{"attributes":{"header":1},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"In ancient times, over a thousand years in the past, Tarkir was raviged by a great war. Brother against brother, khan against dragon, a [[Crux of Fate]] that would determine the future of the world to come. Would dragons rule like tyrants, would the khans never be free of their personal and petty wars, or could a brighter path emerge past the conflict?\n\nThis deck allows you to take the role of one of the two prospective rulers of the Mardu. With [[Alesha, Who Smiles at Death]] at the helm, the deck plays as a persistent aggro deck that constantly accumulates value from \"Power 2 or less\" triggers such as [[Wispdrinker Vampire]] and [[Enduring Innocence]], while cards such as [[Delney, Streetwise Lookout]], [[Ankle Shanker]], and [[Serra Redeemer]] will allow these weaker creatures to be threats in their own right. Evasive boons such as [[Thieves' Tools]] and [[Key to the City]] ensure its safe for Alesha to attack in as many combat steps as possible, while [[Reveillark]] and [[Smile at Death]] can pick up the slack for her in her reanimation efforts.\n\nMeanwhile, Kolaghan's mode of the deck provides an onslaught of powerful dragons like [[Ancient Copper Dragon]], [[Ancient Brass Dragon]], and [[Lathliss, Dragon Queen]] with the intent to reanimate them and bypass their usually steep casting cost — [[Bladewing the Risen]] and [[Fearsome Awakening]] help to this end, while [[Ebondeath, Dracolich]] and [[Boneyard Scourge]] recur themselves to ensure the constant presence of dragons on the board. Once a draconic army has been built up, Kolaghan's ability will allow all of them to swing for potentially game-ending damage in one combat step.\n\nThe shared section of the deck consists of several reanimator effects like [[Reanimate]] and [[Cauldron Dance]] that support the recursion efforts of either mode, in addition to effects that tutor creatures directly into the graveyard like [[Entomb]] or [[Buried Alive]]. Another repeating theme are effects that grant additional combat steps — for Alesha these provide yet more opportunities to gain value from recuring creatures, and for Kolaghan this allows for her buffs to accumulate and potentially win an entire game in one turn. [[Breath of Fury]] especially is a highlight since, assuming the enchanted creature can hit a player (something aided both by the inherent evasion of flying in Kolaghan's mode or creatures such as [[Delney, Streetwise Lookout]] or [[MacCready, Lamplight Mayor]] in Alesha's mode), it can trigger multiple extra combats. Alesha can recur creatures as fast as [[Breath of Fury]] sacrifices them, and this can chain perpetually so long as you have mana when applied to creatures with haste who can proc the enchantment again on a subsequent combat phase, while Kolaghan's attack buffs will stack quickly enough after only a few combats to win games. Finally, the shared deck contains a number of sac outlets to help fill graveyards, and a few more generic but thematically apropriate support pieces such as [[Worthy Cost]], [[Outpost Siege]], and [[Crux of Fate]].\n\n"}]}

So this deck is a sassy attempt to convince them ! And what sassier creature in magic's planes than goblins to do the job ?\n\nSo imagine this : you meet again with your friends, hoping this time they brought a PDH deck. You bring only this dual deck. If they DO bring PDH decks, then you have a quite competitive one on with you. If they don't, you have two choices : either you still play with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"General Kreat, the Boltbringer"}},{"insert":" (since it's legal in both PDH and EDH), and show to your friends how fun (and powerful ?) But now I mostly play Commander, and have never built a goblin deck in this format because I often find that a pure aggro strategy is weaker in EDH. So naturally, one of the things that I dig about PDH, is that aggro is a decent strategy in this sub-format. What better way to illustrate this than to build an aggro/ping goblin deck ?\n\nHow does it work ? "},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nThe core of the two decks are a handful of instant and sorceries to put an army of goblin tokens on the battlefield and to draw cards to keep the wheel rolling.\nWith Kreat, the strategy is quite simple : all those creatures ETB will ping your opponents, and the more goblins you attack with the more 1/1 tokens keep ETB.\nYou can then attack your opponents with all you gobz, with a few cards up your sleeve to make them unbloackable for the final push. You can also sacrifice them for value, either to pump and protect your other creatures or to ramp.\n\nKrark will instead attempt to copy all those instant and sorceries to create more value. Compromises had to be made to respect the 20 cards limit, so this Krark EDH deck won't ever be as competitive as this commander can be. Your creatures can’t break through. But then—you equip Sword of Once and Future. Suddenly, your creature is safe from black and blue threats, and even better, you get to recast your removal spells. Problem solved.\n\nFacing a Boros artifact deck instead? No worries—Sword of Sinew and Steel and Sword of War and Peace make short work of their Sol Ring, Nahiri, and their entire strategy.\n\nThis deck revolves around Absolute Virtue, a powerful, evasive, protection-based commander who becomes almost untouchable once equipped. With a sideboard packed with all ten Swords of X and Y, you’ll always have the right tool for the matchup. Swap in swords that give protection from your opponents’ key colors to slip past blockers, avoid removal, and punish their strategy.\n\nYour probably thinking, \"Eight mana? That’s way too much!\"\nOr is it?\nWith support from Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Cloud Key, Kefnet’s Monument, and more, casting Absolute Virtue becomes manageable—even early. These cost-reducers and mana accelerators let you take control while your opponent is still developing their board.While you're powering up, cards like Propaganda and Ghostly Prison stall aggro decks and force opponents to pay the toll. Once Absolute Virtue is on the board with the right sword, they’ll struggle to even interact.\n\nThis is more than just a Voltron deck—this is Absolute Control through Absolute Virtue. Your creatures become untouchable, your spells recur, and your opponents find themselves helpless, unable to target you or your threats. Adaptable, flavorful, and packed with utility, this deck ensures you always have the perfect blade for the battle ahead.\n"}]}

I know I want to study Blue and Red spells, but which Dean is the right one for me? Is it Uvilda or Nassari? \n\nWell fear no longer, for I can have both! But not at the same time, of course. \n\nThis deck is built around both sides of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Uvilda, Dean of Perfection // Nassari, Dean of Expression"}},{"insert":", where each side of the commander wants different things out of the deck. Both cast spells from exile and want a lot of mana to pay for extra cards each turn, but they do so in a different manner.\n\nUvilda (Perfection) wants to cast big, splashy spells and gain advantages through massive cost reduction on my expensive instants and sorceries. She wants to win by using her large spells to create large creatures with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Metallurgic Summonings"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Shark Typhoon"}},{"insert":", and she can even take her opponents' boards with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Insurrection"}},{"insert":".\n\nNassari (Expression) is focused on casting multiple spells from exile consistently and using my opponents decks against them. Neither commander is looking to win quickly, so we need answers to our opponents' threats while we set up. We are light on counterspells, mostly resorting to use them for protection instead. For other protection, the boots ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Swiftfoot Boots"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lightning Greaves"}},{"insert":") aren't the best options but they enable haste for Uvilda and give Nassari an extra layer before she can be removed.\n\nFor draw, we're relying on cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Faerie Mastermind"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ledger Shredder"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ghostly Pilferer"}},{"insert":" a bit more than I would like to, but both commanders generate card advantage in different ways so having a 2-drop I'll draw some of the time feels okay. There aren't enough cheap spells in either deck to make use of cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Storm-Kiln Artist"}},{"insert":", but I can use utility rocks like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Midnight Clock"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cursed Mirror"}},{"insert":" instead. {"ops":[{"attributes":{"bold":true,"link":"https://archidekt.com/decks/14252154"},"insert":"Doctor Who Is the Real Commander Here?"},{"attributes":{"header":1},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nFor this challenge I built two decks with four commanders in 120 cards! \n\nThe first deck is helmed by Leela, Sevateem Warrior and The Second Doctor. The goal of this deck is to pump up Leela through group-hug effects, drawing the board cards to give Leela +1/+1 counters. To that end, we have cards like Branching Evolution and The Ozolith to support +1/+1 counters, trample and evasion from cards like Kodama of the West Tree and various equipment, and group-hug type effects like Ms. Bumbleflower and Selvala, Explorer Returned. \n\nThe second deck is led by The Sixth Doctor and Romana II, and looks to use both commander's effects to copy powerful historic permanents multiple times. I've included token multipliers in the sideboard like Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Parallel Lives, but most of the cards that will be boarded in are powerful Historic cards that can be copied with The Sixth Doctor's ability (cards like City of Death are there to ramp into The Sixth Doctor with Romana II's ability). \n\nThere are many cards in this list that work just fine in both decks, but a few I have designated as synergistic for both decks due to their flexibility. Doubling season lets us gain more +1/+1 counters and token copies. Nezahal can be copied with The Sixth Doctor, and it benefits nicely from The Second Doctor's large hands. Behold the Unspeakable is both a great saga to copy, and it flips into a good backup win card for Leela and The Second Doctor. And Adric, Mathematical Genius is lets us copy our best triggered abilities in both lists, as well as providing a negate. \n\nI hope you enjoy this list, and thank you for taking the time to read this!\n\n"}]}

Finally are probably the strongest of the bunch, Hakbal and the Surging Merfolk!
