If I'm adding the most basic version of a card, I have no way of knowing whether there are other versions without clicking the down arrow and waiting for the list to populate. If I'm adding a sketch-art, borderless, retro-frame or full art card, I know that there are multiple versions, and I need to check it. Please set the automatic card selection to be the most basic version of the card (the lowest card number). That's usually the one I'm trying to add."},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Archidekt usually seems to pick the newest release of the card you are adding, regardless of what has come before. This makes cracking an older box and adding it to the database a frustrating process. If I'm cracking a box of Innistrad, I don't really want to have to change the collection for every single card I enter. I suggest keeping a list of the previous X editions we've added cards from, and presenting the possible editions in that order. For people adding singles, they have to select the edition most of the time anyway. For people adding boxes, or even older collections centred on a particular era, it will make the process much nicer. Failing that, an option to prefer a single edition when adding cards would help for cracking boxes."},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Typing the short code for the edition in the edition selector would make life easier, but that doesn't currently work. {"ops":[{"insert":"Hi there! I'll take each of your comments one at a time:\n\nThank you for the reminder on "},{"insert":{"card-link":"+2 Mace"}},{"insert":". We have a ticket in for it, just haven't gotten around to fixing it just yet. It should have been on our list of known bugs regardless, so it's there now."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nI'm not sure a notification saying there are multiple versions of a card you're looking to add would be particularly helpful since most cards at this point have multiple versions (even within a single set). That being said, the behavior you're concerned about may be fixed by a solution to your next problem:"},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"This should be fairly easy to fix. While the most \"basic\" version of a card is sometimes a bit subjective, we've got a procedure we're pretty happy with in our search menu when searching for cards with the \"One Set\" setting on. This should have been applied to the collection feature as well, but honestly it was just an oversight on our part. Once implemented, sketch cards and the like should never be the default printing. "},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to have a great solution for this. While I appreciate the concept of your offered solutions, there isn't a particularly elegant or easy way to implement them on the back end. And, frankly, cracking old boxes and adding their cards en masse is probably a bit of an edge case to begin with. My best suggestion here might be to add the cards you want in a spreadsheet of some variety, make a column for the set you're adding, then import the sheet to your collection on Archidekt. That said, you'd actually have to type out the cards' entire names instead of having them autocompleted as you would directly inputting them here, so that may not ultimately save you time."},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"This is a very reasonable request. I'll get a ticket in and see if we can get it implemented. "},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nThank you for the suggestions! \n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Hi Jeremy\n\nThe solution for selecting the most basic/common version of each card seems to be working really well. Adding card numbers for the automatically selected card (in addition to the other variants) makes selecting the correct version "},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"much"},{"insert":" quicker.\n\nAlso, now that we have the ability to type short codes into the edition box, card search and selection is also much faster.\n\nThank you for getting these niggles sorted. The collection I have in Archidekt is now around 17000 cards, and 60+ decks, and the changes have made adding the last box a better experience.\n\nI came across another card that I couldn't add to my collection without using the same workaround I used for +2 Mace, but I've forgotten what it's called. I'll let you know if I find it again.\n\nThanks again for this great tool, and your hard work!\n\nEdit: I "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"think"},{"insert":" it was Minsc & Boo, but it looks like that's fixed now.\n"}]}
