{"ops":[{"insert":"my secret “commander” for this deck building challenge is guild globe. Yes the 2 mana artifact that draws you a card on etb and you can pay 2 colorless tap and sac for 2 mana of any color. Now you might be wondering why pick such a basic card? Because it was a funny challenge. Now maybe this is against the rules but I wanted my secret commander to not be a creature like the secret commander builds normally are. So instead I built this monstrosity. An 100 card deck fully committed to drawing your deck with the star of the show guild globe. To prove this point I have exactly 1 card in the deck that can possibly draw you a card and that of course is guild globe. With the face commander Arcum Dagsson. You will wanna drop a cheap creautre on 1 and ramp on 2 ans cast Dagsson on 3. Then sac your creatures that dont matter anyway to grab some cost reducers, cloudstone curio, and ofc guild globe from here you can cast any artifact and continuously draw cards off of the globe bouncing him from the field to your hand with cloudstone curio. Then drop a lab maniac and claim your sweet globed victory. {"ops":[{"insert":"Hey, all, excited to enter this competition for the first time. This is my deck, "},{"attributes":{"link":"https://archidekt.com/decks/9570504/manifest_destiny"},"insert":"Manifest Destiny"},{"insert":"\n\nThis is an exploration of what the elves of Lorwyn might get up to post-Phyrexian incursion. The elves of the setting during normal operations are fascist elf supremacists who view \"the land\" as belonging to them and them alone. They will do anything it takes to stop eyeblights' incursion onto what they view as theirs. \n\nWhat happens when they not only have proof of the multiverse's existence, but the ability to traverse it without the need for planeswalkers? \n\nWell, clearly the lands of these other places are simply awaiting their perfection. That land belongs to them as well, they just didn't know it yet. If the squatters who are there for the time being won't cooperate, they'll need to be brought to heel. \n\nWelcome to Manifest Destiny. \n\nThe nominal commander here is Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, who winnows down opponents' hands and fill the board with elves. That said, I'm not doing elfball. Elfball decks are certainly a viable path to victory but in my view they're kind of a solved problem so I went in a slightly different direction. \n\nThe secret commander here is gilt-leaf archdruid, normally not legal since he's nonlegendary. \n\nArchdruid gives draws every time a druid joins the party, which we'll bolster with maskwood nexus conferring druid to all creatures with additional redundancy from conspiracy naming the druid type. While draw is nice, the real thing we're interested in is its activated ability: \n\nTap seven untapped druids you control: gain control of all lands target player controls. \n\nThis extra land will ramp us along which is why we're running a few less lands than normal for a 5 mana commander. It will also forestall our opponents. Since we may have some plains, mountains, and islands in the mix, fixing is important, which is one of the things yavimaya, urborg, and prismatic omen provide. \n\nTo ensure our opponents have plenty of lands for us to steal, our ramp is focused on giving opponents lands too, so they will think we're playing hug until archdruid swoops in to claim the land for Lorwyn. \n\nEmbroidering on the lands matter theme, we've got a few classic staples from your typical lands deck in here to help move in for the kill like dark depths to smash in for 20 in the air. Vampire hexmage, thespian's stage, or the less conventional thief of blood or invasion of fiora give additional options to take those counters off all at once, or Glissa Sunseeker can chip away at them three at a time. \n\nRootpath purifier lets us treat all our lands as basics which let a bunch of our tutors grab things that are needed for some toolbox type answers to nab maze of ith for problematic attackers, lotus field to speed us along on our curve, etc.\n\nWe have a handful of ways to play lands from the graveyard as well in case we need to make strategic sacrifices off of crop rotation, mill lands with deadbridge chant, or dump one to llanowar mentor to give us some more dorks. \n\nThe bulk of our creatures are elves, and realmwalker can let us play them off the top of our deck which gets us draws off of beast whisperer regardless of type and potentially more once archdruid is out once everything's counting as druids. Courser of kruphix lets us play lands from the top of the library and we can keep going until we get some gas. \n\nShaman of the pack can function as a finisher in the mid to late game and one of the few non-elves, herald of Leshrac is a good flying beater who helps out with our land theft theme, snatching up any straggling lands through his cumulative upkeep cost. Ditch him through one of the discard effects if you draw him too early and don't have enough ramp to hit 7 and reanimate him when you do through effects like rise of the witch-king or tempt with discovery. \n\nOnce opponents' hands are empty, Maralen will help them from drawing into more than one answer at once and depending on life totals may help you bleed out any stragglers. \n\nBefore long, you should have enough land on the battlefield to finish off whoever's left with a big exsanguinate, dump your library with genesis wave, or plink through walking ballista if something above hasn't already cleaned house. Think your deck with reshape the earth and scapeshift to ensure you land on gas with mid to late game draws and don't worry if you run out of land since we always have our opponents' to colonize. \n"}]}

The deck title references this particular exchange, and it is built around the concept of Michael's living corridors, which have a mind of their own. "},{"attributes":{"color":"var(--color)","background":"var(--light-background)"},"insert":"Also, there are back up hidden commanders. If they were exiled before we activate Bilbo, we can get riftsweeper to put them back into our library. If they are in the graveyard, we can get eternal witness to bring them back into our hand.\n\nThis deck is named “The fellowship of the Ring: Book 1” because it follows the story of that book through its first half, from Bilbos birthday party until just before the hobbits reach Rivendell. I have sorted the cards into the chapters they represent. I have some notes about those chapters as follows:\nCh. 1 This category includes not only the party guest and setting, but also some background information about hobbits and the Shire.\nCh. 2 In this chapter Gandalf reveals to Frodo that Bilbo’s ring is in fact the one ring, with a stouthearted Sam listening at the window.\nCh. 3 After some time passes, Frodo sells Bag End. Then, with Pippin and Sam, sets out to occupy a house in Buckland. Sam has expressed his desire to see elves, and in this chapter he does in fact meet elves along the way. Here there are included some elves, including a piece of recursion in Riftsweeper.\nCh. 4 Here the trio runs into farmer Cotton and learns more about the dark riders that are pursuing them\nCh. 5 At this point, our hidden commanders come into play. Against Frodo’s plan, it is decided that the four hobbits will set out together. I have categorized the hidden commanders here along with the secondary hidden commanders, the adventurous hobbit and loyal attendant. Command tower is also categorized here to signal the hidden commanders.\nFrom here we follow the story through the old forest, the barrow downs, to the Prancing Pony (where we meet the only Aragorn that is legal in this deck), and ending at Weathertop (where the remaining Nazgul are revealed).\n"}]}
