Anyway, we now live in opposite sides of the world, and we used to play spelltable and MTGA a lot, now a little less. This deck is the most I remember from our games. It was a brawl deck, and I haven't played against it in a while, but it's still very nostalgic for me. I built it from memory, making sure to keep in all the cards I remembered, and adding a few extra because it is commander. Also, the commander he used was Golos, but..... yeah, I had to switch that one out. This deck works on somehow finding thousand-year storm using random cards, then comboing off with it. {"ops":[{"insert":"Hello, thank you for hosting another one of these competitions! This one got me to revisit an old idea I started a few years ago to make a deck revolving around one of my favorite cards from tabletop magic with my brothers growing up, Blistering Firecat. https://archidekt.com/decks/4727018/blistering_firecatnado\n\nI thought it was an interesting challenge to build around a creature that sacrifices instelf at the end of turn, so this started brewing how to recur it enough. This led me to using the Rakdos Chainer as Commander, which would give me access to black for tutors to hand (or graveyard) and then Chainer herself who would allow me to recast the Firecat once per turn. \n\nThere was one major threat to this entire deck, and that is exile effects! I've added a few redirect spells and sacrifice outlets to avoid the firecat getting exiled, and not being able to recast it anymore! To prevent getting hit by any Graveyard hate, there's also ways to bring Blistering Firecat back to hand at instant speed. I've also added two backup creatures with Ball Lightning and Lightning Skelemental who serve as backups to the blistering firecat, but also work great with any Elemental synergy, or mass reanimate effects\n\nThere are 3 main Categories I have to support the strategy in the deck: Amplify, Clone, and Revive the Cat. I have damage doublers like Dictate of the Twin Gods to double the damage my cats will do. I play a lot of the Red temporary clone effects to make copies of Firecat, such as Molten Duplication for a one time clone, cards like Molten Duplication for repeated cloning, and lastly things like kindred Charge to mass clone all our elementals (even any clones we already have in play). Since all three of the creatures are Elementals, it works really great!\n\nWith my Blistering Firecat going to the graveyard every turn, and the chance of Chainer not always being in play, I have also added a couple reanimation spells to the deck, from the classic Reanimation to more expensive ones that have upside like reviving all the elementals, or cards like Too Greedily Too Deep to bring Firecat back and dealing 7 damage to everyone creatures, clearing the way for all my cats to get an open attack \n\nI rounded the deck off with some classic staples for draw, ramp and removal to help the deck get going, and be able to interact with the board! I hope you get to enjoy looking over this deck, and there's more details about it in the description on the deck page.\n\n\nThank you,\n\nSteven\n\n\n\n"}]}

The trick that I decided to make is throw a Mirror Box into the deck to allow me to copy any of the legendary creatures in the deck without worrying about the annoying legend rule. Both Runo and Mirror Box are pretty simple to get out while adding in a bit of self mill to quickly get them from my deck. When Runo comes out, I get to take a creature from my graveyard and put it on top of my deck. For this I usually choose Wrexial, the Risen Deep to come out. Wrexial is a six cost kraken so not only does he allow Runo to transform, but when I first swing with Krothuss and Wrexial, my opponent suddenly has three islandwalk/swampwalk 5/8 creatures all swinging at them. Or if I just need more blockers, I just swing with Charix, The Raging Isle and create two more 0/17 creatures. In the end, Wrexial is just meant to allow me to steal any of the decent instant or sorcery cards from my opponent and cast them for free, perhaps even stealing one of my opponents spell combos in the process.\n\n\t\tRuno Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep: Start creating copies of my creatures.\n\t\tMirror Box: Create as many copies of my legendary creatures as I want.\n\t\tWrexial, The Risen Deep: Swing with large creatures that allow me to steal spells from my opponent's graveyard.\n"}]}
