(redundancy is every secret commander deck wet dream no more Pull from Eternity if you don’t just have one way to make your tokens not legendary) \n\n\tCards like [[Cadric, Soul Kindler]], or [[The Master, Multiplied]] make the legend rule not apply to tokens I control while this random saga from the recent set Wilds of Eldrain, [[The Apprentice’s Folly]] makes token copies that aren’t legendary two turns in a row similar to [[Yenna Redtooth]] but instead of doing creatures she only makes non legendary enchantments. While if I already have a legendary rule not applying cards likes Sashimi of Thousand Faces out, I can just make copies of legendary with cards like Replication Technique, Satya, or The Jolly Balloon Man. All these mix and match pieces that are also legendary make for a different experience every time even if I have a tutor in the commander zone like Sisay. \n\n\tSo what now? {"ops":[{"insert":"https://archidekt.com/decks/631423/the_lich_king\n\nThis deck is called The Lich King, because it revolves around playing the card Lich to win. Not Lich's Mastery, that card has hexproof and costs 3 more mana, I don't want safe and slow. I want rapid and risky. The game plan for the deck is as follows:\nGet Lich in hand as soon as possible.\nGet Ad Nauseam in hand as soon as possible.\nDraw the entirety of your deck.\nPlay one of a dozen wincons that all have a fairly different vibe, so your combo deck wins a different way each time.\n\nYou play Lich. Win. You ARE The Lich King. The idea is to play Lich, then use the power of the best card in the game to draw as many cards as you want with Ad Nauseam. Villis Broker of Blood is great in this deck, while not exactly your whole deck, Lich follow-up to Villis is straight up 30-40 cards, should be enough.\n\nThe deck has a bunch of win-cons so it doesn't end up stale. You get to the same point the same way, but how you win changes each game:\n1-Painter's Servant + Grindstone combo: Watch the mill deck mill himself DRY.\n2-Psychosis Crawler + Final Strike (or Rite of Consumption with Platinum Angel OR suicide bomb them): The Lich King is Timmy NOW!\n3-Repay in Kind: Show those foolish mortals that they never stood a chance. All of your enemies will fall before the might of The Lich King!\n4-Infinite Mana + Torment of Hailfire: Show that red player that burn was ALWAYS a black thing.\n5-Infinite Mana + Ayara, First of Locthwain + Dark Salvation: What would The Lich King be without his army of the undead?\n6-Psychosis Crawler played before the combo turn: A King needs a right-hand-man, after all... and who could ask for one more menacing?\n7-Infinite Mana + Golem Artisan: A good King is always prepared, and sometimes your right-hand-man won't cut it.\n8-Infinite Mana + Damnable Pact: Mortals always make you laugh... knowledge always comes at a price. Though not for The Lich King.\n\nVariant Plays:\n-Got Lich and no tutor for Ad Nauseam yet, but can't wait for another draw? Try:\n\t-1 mana 13/13 from Death's Shadow, rite of consumption and draw 13, deal 13.\n\t-Lich into win-con #3 works with no Ad Nauseam\n-Got Ad Nauseam and no tutor for Lich yet, but can't wait for another draw?\n\t-A painless victory is a privilege... you just didn't earn it this time. Eat the damage for breakfast, see if you can grab a win-con in time.\n-Got neither, but need to get going or lose? Bolas's Citadel will get you going. Add Necropotence, and you can chain to the win, most of the time.\n\nProblem Solving:\n-Lich has many weaknesses, unfortunately thats the trade-off for being 4 mana and not 7, so you have to play around them:\n\t-Platinum Angel: literally just stops you from losing the game... this is a good thing. Lich is very powerful and that power comes at the price of danger.\n\t-Sundial of the Infinite: Did your opponent really just Counterspell Lich... did he/she blow it up with Krosan Grip? Stop that. End the stack RIGHT NOW. You can get it back later, with Shrouded Lore or Yawgmoth's Will.\n\t-Darkness: Your opponent plays red or green or both every single match? Is that person currently about to swing for 124245345345 damage? I know it. Play Darkness. Stall for one more turn. Play. Lich. NOW.\n\t-Oubliette: Your opponent just played some stupid, dummy, dumb-dumb, idiot head creature... you're SOL right now... not for LONG! HAHA, GET IN THE DUNGEON LOSER!\n\t-So you got the combo in hand, but nowhere near enough mana to do it in the one turn you need to do it in? Vedalken Orrery's got your back. Play Lich on their endstep, play ad nauseam on your new turn, then draw up your stupid mana generation and win.\n\nEverything Else:\n\t-Mana: There to pump out the combo as fast as possible, and also there to do funny win-con bs when the combo is done.\n\t-Card Draw: Sweet, sweet card advantage baby. Draw. DRAW FASTER! Draw the combo, draw tutors for the combo. \n\t-Enchantments: Necropotence GOAT, who needs life when you have LICH?! YOU'RE A KING!!!\n\t-Keep in mind that Skirge familiar (should you literally play the cards right, should almost always be playable after the draw combo, thus you can play out any win-con you want.)\n*It's assumed you played Lich +Ad Nauseam before all of the combos for win-cons*\n**Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith is the infinite mana combo here.\n"}]}
