Riku and the Seven Dwarves

{"ops":[{"insert":"This is a dwarf kindred deck focused on using Riku of Two Reflections to make copies of Seven Dwarves, which each buff each other for every creature named Seven Dwarves we control. Of our 28 creatures, 17 are dwarves (34 if you copy them all with Riku since that's how math works)... and the rest enable us to make more copies with Riku!\n\nThe gameplan is pretty simple on its face: ramp up, find Seven Dwarves, make lots of copies, and win via combat. Riku's triggered abilities get us there by potentially doubling every card we play. \n\nHere is a short list of board states we are hoping to find:\nUse Riku to copy a kicked Rite of Replication targeting Seven Dwarves to make 10 copies of the dwarves. Golem tribal might seem pretty \"thick\" with options since it has about 159 cards included but the overall \"theme\" of golems doesn't really exist. Where you may be able to think of elves and assume small swarms or zombies with recursion, golems are literally all over the place with their effects. \n\nThis deck uses Ghired to give those creatures producing golems a second function on top of their more lord like abilities. The Endless Cycle of Death and Rebirth at a Reasonable Price

{"ops":[{"insert":"This a mercenary/outlaw tribal deck, with minor goblin tribal synergy, that aims to win through some typical goblin-based persist combos. I chose the commander, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Chainer, Nightmare Adept"}},{"insert":" , because his playstyle has fascinated me for a long time, although I've never built him in paper, and because he directly synergizes with the tutor chain we want to pull off by enabling us to chain our outlaw tutors. We use a very basic graveyard package to synergize with the reanimator gameplan this deck wants to encourage, and also for resiliency, but there is one key difference from other Chainer decks: the mercenary chain. Essentially, we aim to use our mercenaries to tutor out a persist combo, thus offering the endless cycle of death and rebirth (for a price), hence the deck name.\n\nFor those unfamiliar, there are two cycles of \"Rathi\" and \"Cateran\" mercenaries, that each tutor a mercenary with lesser CMC to the battlefield. For example, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cateran Overlord"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rathi Assassin"}},{"insert":" . Essentially, we want to use at least one of these to bring out our key mercenary: "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Moggcatcher"}},{"insert":" , who searches out five of our key combo pieces: "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Murderous Redcap"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Putrid Goblin"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Goblin Sledder"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Vial Smasher, Gleeful Grenadier"}},{"insert":" (who can also be searched out by any of the CMC3 mercs in our chain), and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Metallic Mimic"}},{"insert":" . The combo is simple: Sledder sacrifices either of the persist goblins, which comes back with a -1/-1 counter, and Mimic negates that -1/-1 counter so the persist goblin can come back when next we sacrifice it. Vial smasher provides burn in case Redcap is unavailable and we are forced to use Putrid. \n\nSo why Chainer? Easy. Any nontoken creature that enters under our control without being cast from hand will gain haste - this includes any creatures tutored out by our mercenary chain (and we include "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Hellspur Posse Boss"}},{"insert":" as backup). Hence, if we tutor out Moggcatcher, we don't have to wait a turn to start tutoring out combo pieces. We have three generic sac outlets, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Phyrexian Tower"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cateran Overlord"}},{"insert":" , and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Goblin Bombardment"}},{"insert":" , that can be used to get Mggcatcher back into the graveyard to reanimate it and hence tutor multiple times per turn.\n\nSpeaking of reanimation, another reason I chose mercenary tribal was because of Outlaws of Thunder Junction (OTJ). Some felt this set was a disappointment, or just didn't like it, but I'm personally quite fond. Not only did it give me my beloved "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Pillage the Bog"}},{"insert":" , the commander decks also gave us a number of outlaw-specific recursion pieces: namely "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Graywater's Fixer"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Back in Town"}},{"insert":" , and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Charred Graverobber"}},{"insert":" , which we can leverage to make sure our mercs don't stay dead. \n\nUnfortunately, including all those mercenaries and combo redundancies means that this deck falls behind on draw. So we need to make heavy use of Chainer, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Monument to Endurance"}},{"insert":" , and direct-to-graveyard tutors to stay in the game. This deck prefers to search for its key pieces rather than draw into them, but obviously that leaves us vulnerable to cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Opposition Agent"}},{"insert":", which is why we include a non-negligible amount of interaction. \n"}]}

Gatekeeping Angels

{"ops":[{"insert":"Angel beatdown deck with Pramikon as a commander. It isn't an angel, but just look at it. That's an even more angelic wall than Angelic Wall. This deck takes advantage of Pramikon's combat limitaitons in several thematic ways. Vigilant angels and walls are both great on defense when you only have one player to worry about attacking you. Flying is excellent for triggering coastal piracy effects as the main draw engines. I have also leaned very hard into the white \"political\" card draw secret rendezvous effects since I can just give those cards to the two players that aren't attacking me so they kill each other faster. Windshaper Planetar is an angel that lets me redirect attackers to other players and ignore Pramikon, messing with combat in ways no one else was preparing for (portal manipulator does the same). And finally, myriading the angels also bypasses Pramikon and spreads the angel goodness to everyone. \n\nInstead of boardwipes, which I don't really want because I have two players I WANT to have boards to hit each other with, I'm running plenty of protection for my own board. Linvala is a thematic selfless spirit (even if I'll never have a full party). Sephara is a cheap way to put indestructible on the board permanently, and 4 board protection instants. There are also two ways to blink Pramikon if I need to change the direction it faces if the person attacking me has too good a board. \n\nSome funny interactions include giving Lightstall Inquisitor myriad and wiping away everyone's hands repeatedly. Duelist's heritage is a great way to whittle down the opponents who aren't attacking me without investing anything permanent on their boards. Flumph is a flying defender that mini Secret Rendezvouses, and also it's called Flumph. Luminarch Ascension was already an excellent card, doubly so when two of my opponents literally can't attack me.\n\nThis is definitely a bracket 2 deck, angels without Giada in the CZ are slow and the gameplan resolves around being defensive. But if you build your board, eventually you will out grind or finish with mass myriad or manipulating Pramikon. \n"}]}

Eldrazi Scion conveniently bypass two of these requirements allowing us to doubly focus on token generation. \n\nBlack lets us take advantage of classic value engines with cards like [[Morbid Opportunist]], [[Species Specialist]] and [[Smothering Abomination]]. Adding green to the mix gives us access to the majority of ETB scion generators that we can double, copy, and recur to cheat extra value from. Beyond that we can fill out the rest of the deck with colorless interaction/support pieces to protect our plan and creature tutors to close out the game.\n\nBelbe subsidizes the plan by generating an enormous amount of colorless mana as early as turn two. By the time our engine is online we can keep her around as an attack deterrent or sac her to prevent opponents from ramping. In any case we will use cards like [[Mardu Shadowspear]] to get her started and blood artist effects like [[Glaring Fleshraker]] to keep her going.\n\nIf combat damage and drain don’t do the trick, we can end the game with a [[Spawnsire of Ulamog]] [[Pitiless Plunderer]] (or other doubler) infinite combo.\n\n\nBudget Version: https://archidekt.com/decks/24372453/budget_beldrazi_100\n\n"}]}
