They tend to play commander decks built off of cards they have or very basic and janky upgrades to precon decks. I would like to know some decent budget options (spending no more than $60 for the whole deck) that work well for kids about that age. While my decks are by no means casual, they are designed to do one particular thing well, and I'm worried about them getting too frustrated to play. My goal is to have two or three of these decks to hand off to people to play with these kids as optimized decks worth $100+ is not fair compared to a kid who build a deck off of 99 commons they have from draft chaft. \n\nKinda wanna steer away from complicated strategies without being too dummied down. Avoiding things that are unfun to new people like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Gonti, Lord of Luxury"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kambal, Consul of Allocation"}},{"insert":" and friends. \n\nMono or dual colors (already own a Dimir, Radkos, Izzet, and Boros deck, and am putting together a Azorius one) are ideal as they tend to be a bit more straightforward.\n\nEDIT: I've decided to go with making the mono-color flip-walkers as they seem fun and allow for a very clear playstyle. Especially since most of the kids at my store are age 9-13, having a planeswalker commander is rather cool.\n"}]}

bugz_the_cat 5 years{"ops":[{"insert":"ive considered odric, but my mother (yes I taught her how to play) currently has one and I don’t want any thing of a steal her thunder, especially since hers is so good.\n\nive watched a lot of commanders quarters, and I’ve paid attention to how he cuts down on price, such as taking heavily played and damaged cards. ive thrown jisung name around so much with the kids who come in.\n"}]}

He plays through every game regardless of his tilt, which I commend him for, but I don’t want to discourage him since he’s so enthusiastic about playing seeing as everyone is “cool 20-something year olds”.\n(on mobile so it’s being painful) but multani seems like good idea to use since it’s fairly straight forward (the new one from dominaria\n"}]}

My version is built on a budget of 30$ but given a bigger budget it can be a fantastic deck.\n"}]}

PROFIT!\" decks seem like they might work well for this, whether monocolored ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Talrand, Sky Summoner"}},{"insert":") or Izzet ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Mizzix of the Izmagnus"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Melek, Izzet Paragon"}},{"insert":"). In addition, there are a lot of cheap and decent red and blue instants and sorceries that can be added in to trigger them.\n\nAura-based decks can also be good, without needing all the expensive Enchantress staples (though they would make for an obvious upgrade path). "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Krond the Dawn-Clad"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Bruna, Light of Alabaster"}},{"insert":" both work well with cheaper Auras (and Bruna has a fantastic combo with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Mirror-Mad Phantasm"}},{"insert":", which is quite cheap).\n\nAny deck that just wants to throw out fatties can work, as there is some great cheap beef out there (especially if you're in green). The idea here is just ramp like crazy, cast Silvos and use cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Soul's Majesty"}},{"insert":" to pump him up and draw a lot of cards, then swing for lots of damage with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Fireshrieker"}},{"insert":". \n"}]}

I'll see if I can come up with a more budget option for her and maybe put together a few other 2-3 color tribal decks. \n\nI'd say my Gisa and Geralf deck, but it's my favorite deck and it is the most tuned and the one I pilot they best.\n"}]}
