{"ops":[{"insert":"I used to love board games, particularly the Deckbuilding card game, Star Realms is my favourite. \n\nThen I joined a club in Scotland that predominantly plays MTG Commander and after 1 learning game with the Game Night Free For All 2022 box and the Foundations Beginner's Box; I bought my first Precon which was Creative Energies from Modern Horizons 3 and proceeded to quickly develop a plan for a consolidated collection of decks that I could rotate and play for fun. Generally centred around Red, Black or Green. Of which Red Aggro/Midrange tends to be my favourite.\n\nI have 5 Precons, that I've made budget swaps to, and I planned to make another 10, some based on Precons and some from scratch using excess cards from the Game Night and Beginner box.\n\nOver the Summer though; I quickly learned a lot about Game Changers, Infinites and Brackets and was astounded by the complexity of this game.\n\nTherefore most of my decks are budget theory crafted until I'm 99% confident in making a Paper purchase, that the decks are fun to play at Bracket 2 or built to win in Bracket 3.\nThe one major obstacle I have is the Price to Power ratio, like the idea of a deck having a Power Level of 6 or higher and costing only £40 which sounds impossible when all my decks cost over £100 on Cardmarket. And I don't want to waste my money on cards that end up becoming jank that gets put in a binder and forgotten about.\nLike I wanted to build a Mardu Vampires deck solely to have a Mardu deck in my roster/collection, but there are so many ways you could build Edgar Markov that how do you\nMake it powerful but not TOO powerful for a Bracket 3 game?"},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Keep it under £100?"},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Avoid redundancy (IE: If Edgar is already creating tokens from the Command zone, do you need more Token generators?)"},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nSometimes I just wish there was a tried and true deck for every one commander, just pick your commander, choose your bracket and go!\n\nPlus I am only familiar with about 900 cards out of the over 20,000 cards in MTG history, so I tend to rely on online guides for my decks, particularly EDHREC's Average Deck lists and fill out my Maybeboard with around 30 Staples, suggestions and get bogged down in analysis paraysis.\n\nAlso I'm not too familiar with Game plans or how I like to play, other than the traditional \"Tap all Creature, Win by Combat Damage\". So I'm pretty much a beginner Timmy flying someone else's Battlecruiser. I also want to sample different playstyles across my decks from amassing an army of Tokens to winning via a Wincon card like Reval in Riches or Mechanized Production.\n\nMy general preferences are \nPreferred Power Level (According to Deckcheckco): 4.5 - 5.5 (Focused/High-Power Casual)"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Preferred Bracket: 2 or 3"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"NO Game Changers "},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"NO cEDH Early game Infinites (Turn 2-4)"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Non Game Changer Tutors are OK"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Late Game Infinites are fine.
