My late brother introduced me to the game, and I fell in love with the immense strategy and unique diversity you can create with deckbuilding. Magic has been there as an outlet for my anxiety and depression issues ever since. In 2010 I opened a small town game shop, and I would spend hours every day building new decks and teaching others about this amazing game that I got lost in. As I've grown, gotten different jobs and had a family, this game has always been with me. The people I've met, and lasting friendships I have because of this game have changed my life for the better. The memories I have of that little game shop, and all the nights playing in friends basements are ones that I will cherish forever. in 2024 I lost my little brother. It took a toll on me, but one thing I knew I could always hang onto was Magic. Going through his things, I found all of his old decks from when we started and the memories flowed back. Magic the Gathering will always hold a very special place in my heart because of the connection to my brother. I have gravitated to EDH, or Commander as they call it now, and remain an avid deck builder with seemingly less time to play my brews. I'm mostly a control and combo player at heart. Started with Blue and Black when I picked up the game, and my love for what those colors are about will always be at the core of anything I try to build.
