It’s always kind of funny to me how I can feel like an old man when it comes to Magic despite often being one of the younger people at the table. Shortly after I started playing the original Ravnica set was released for crying out loud! I haven't always kept up with the game but I have watched the evolution of paper Magic over the years and I am excited to see where it goes in another twenty.\n\nI had the privilege of learning Magic from one of the best players I knew, Jason. I always envisioned him as a sensei trying to teach me the ways of the game so I could go forward and show others. The fantasy was fitting at the time because my first outings to a LGS were during the final Kamigawa block. Jason taught my valuable lessons in deck building (which I would later take to commander) and in unspoken rules between players. I spent most of my early years doing standard tournaments and casual sixty-card at my local store but like many, I moved over to commander as soon as I heard about it and it’s been commander ever since for this chap.\n\nUnfortunately, Jason passed away at the end of 2017. Leaving a void in a small-town Magic community where everyone knew who he was. I am honored to have spent the time learning the game from one of its masters and I try to carry his lessons forward with me into a new age of the game.\n\n\nPS- The sixty-card deck on my page was a deck Jason helped me build back in the casual sixty-card days (I have added a card or two since).\n"}]}
